Very intetesting.

We had a hell of a journey with Huw at the helm.
Its a shame the way it ended. Enough said about all that.

Good luck Huw, but you will need it i think.

What was the shame?. relegation? Dan James business? (which turned out well for Dan and SCFC)

Football teams go up and down and HJ was turning things around with highly rated Graham Potter at the wheel.

Some fans went on a whinge fest and talked legal case The case was weak and they folded like a pack of cards having wasted 80,000 subscriptions when push came to shove.

Fans who do not like him called it luck. He has the knowledge contacts and experience.

I would love to know if Levien and Kaplan regret letting him leave in Feb 2019.
Would we have been in a better position if he had stayed and given them his experience in the second tier?

HJ shook hands with Graham Potter. Potter might not have left if the man he had a gentleman's agreement had not gone. Swansea give manager 3 years and "reluctantly" let them go after two with some compensation. Potter was not attracted by Celtic before JHJ lhad left.

Potter left after one and actually apologised to the fans, Potter is a great coach. He shuld not b given the keys to the safe for transfers though. He had the Scottish guy who thought Mckay and Asoro were good players. He blew £7m.

£7m was a measly budget that summer. £50m+ in player sales and thousands of pounds of wages off the books. Potter was given the tough job of trying to squeeze what he could out of a bag of loose change thrown at him by the owners.

£7m is big money for a Championship team and he wasted it. He was careless about transfers again at Chelsea. A good coach and technician but with questionable ability at recruitment. I have had a look at affordable transfers summer 2018 and come up with these names obviously with the benefit of hindsight. Pick four from these for less than£7m

Ivan Toney
Teemu Pukki
Ezra Konsa
Ryan Fredricks
Adam Webster
James McClean
Murray Wallace
Josh Laurent
Callum Styles
Charlie Wyke
Ben Willmott

Well i could point at Mesa (£11m for 11 games) and Borja (£15.5m just 7 goals).
2 seasons running.

Joe Allen was ready to return.

It was a shame how we ended up relegated.

I am not sure the point you are making. Swansea best chance of returning was under Potter. He was way too slow to understand what he had at his disposal.

It is a given that Ledbetter who kept a low profile cost SCFC by his very poor high cost signings the year previously (with a huge budget) leading to relegation. Ledbetter was good at low cost picks.

McCauley cost the clubs best chance of an immediate return by his poor signings. Asoro, Declan John, Celina and McKay.

I have highlight good cheap players oher clubs signed for much less than the £7m at his disposal. Ivan Toney being the cream of the crop.

Not fogrgetting we wouldn't spend 9 million on Allen but then spent 16 million on Clucas which was an utter disaster.

I had tried to wipe that one from memory.
You correct though, what were we thinking ?

Joey back then would have been great business.
Shirley nobody really wants to play for Stoke ?

You have a love in with this player. He signed not one but two contracts with Stoke. He only joined Swansea when his legs had gone and he was feeling homesick.

He needs to pull his finger out and perform better like everyone else.
