This has been surfacing now and again with little explanation. It’s a Swindon fan who ran on to the pitch at the Vetch and was arrested by the cops. This after fighting between both fans on the then open bank behind the goal. Swindon had a group of hooligans called STAB. ‘Swindon Town Aggro Boys’ Yes it could have been dreamt up by your old man or even grandfather !

However, Swindon were considerably well thought of back then as a club and ended up in the Anglo Italian cup. Those who went to Napoli know what that is all about. Here are clips from Napoli v Swindon in the final in Italy.

60 fans injured, loads of arrests and Napoli banned from Europe.Theres a Union Jack in there somewhere, I bet it didn’t last too long.

I would have been there but don't remember it. The only games that stick in my mind from that season are Liverpool away in the cup and the home and away games to Aston Villa in the league.
