Swansea City : ‘A game of loans’ The Jack is back ! 27th Apr 2026 10:20 Jack Butty watched the incoming tide and the bladderwrack and sea lettuce washing up on the shore. He scratched his head. His ship was anchored in the Fowey estuary while the men were on press-gang duty to recruit new crew members. The beer in the tavern was bitter, and so was he. Yes, that was it. Life and age were doing that.1

I though t Scott Sinclair was a permanent deal £1.5 m or did it proceed after an initial loan?
Brendan also signed Tomas Priskin on loan. He played only once and scored got injured and SCFC were obliged to pay Ipswich and hefty promotion linked fee of several hundred thousand.
The best recent loan was clearly Marc Guehi as the club managed to tie him down for two seasons. The biggest howler was Victor Gyorkeres who I believe was on a loan to buy. He was not plying well but football experts are paid to see potential. I believe Steve Cooper was too short term focused and did not have the patience of Mark Robins to see and develop. Some might have dispensed withe Vipotnik based on his first season. It could be argued the £20m Coventry took in for VG was the time the fortunes of Coventry and Swansea diverged.
Some players have done better on loan at Swnsea than anywhere else. Jamal Lowe 2 nd time and Brewster fall into this category

Sinclair from memory was on loan originally
A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.
