We either end up with UBI and wealth taxes in the near future or we end up with a small amount of mega rich people and every one else destitute, but if we do get UBI and wealth taxes in the future it will look like communism which is ironic considering the capitalists said communism wouldn't work when the signs are capitalism isn't going to work once all the wealth has been sucked out of the bottom 99% of people and ended up in the pockets of the top 1% of people. | |

The main reason communism doesn’t work and never has worked is because it’s completely incompatible with human nature, and the power hungry and the perverse have always rigged the system for their own gains leaving nothing but destruction in its wake. But you have (unintentionally of course) raised an interesting philosophical question with your mention of AI. Would a communist style system be more effective if human interference was removed and replaced by an AI ‘government’ that made fair politically impartial decisions entirely based on the welfare and benefit of the people as a whole?
