I think they were in discussions for a player coach role, but it was unlikely he would make the cut for the squad hence the departure confirmation. Just my opinion.

Frankly, a waste of money
We still need to replace Key ,a fundamental defensive weakness whose main attribute seems to be niceness and belief in a deity

He did a job that was needed and probably cost us £300K in total with no comebacks. I don't think its that bad when you concider the issues we had at right back last season.
