I was gutted to miss the Vetch Concert...as I joined the Army earlier that month...really bad timing!
Interesting to read how (all?) 16 tracks from the Vetch concert are included, included as part of 92 unreleased tracks... a monster set of back catalogue Who tracks.
When you think of the massive 60's/70's/80's Super Groups some of whom still ply their trade, it truly is amazing! What a musical era some of us were fortunate to grow up in!
50th Year Anniversary eh? So many of today's 'bands' can't manage a second 'single' let alone an album. What the hell has happened to the musical dynamism we were so lucky to witness in our youth. |

I've been sent a text report from X.com (Twitter) saying Yacine Titraoui is going through final details of personal terms with the Swans, as they're not 100% agreed as yet.
Agents USG are pushing their client towards Swansea over Olympiacos and Hull.
£8 Million having been accepted from Olympiacos...wow that's a tad tasty for us innit??? [Post edited 29 Jul 12:48]

It's good to see a positive response to someone who has given so much to our club over so many years.
As the article states, every club needs a Kris O'Leary. This is particularly the case for us in geographically challenged West Wales. I've lost count how many players I've spoken to over the years who've said they had no idea where Swansea was even, and certainly knew nothing about it. Local stalwarts, like Kris, would be on hand to 'introduce' them into the many attractions of the area.
I've only met Kris once, and that was during the last days at the Vetch Field in 2005. We'd just won Promotion 0-1 up at Bury the previous Saturday. We'd just beaten Wrexham the previous Tuesday, in the FAW Premier Cup Final, the very last match at the old Vetch. And on the following Sunday the club had laid on a Marquee based celebration, 'The Curry and Comedy' afternoon on Sunday 15th.
My friends and I 'bought' a table for the event and the idea was, a first team player would sit on each table for the meal and subsequent 'partying.' Kris O'Leary chose the 'short straw,' in having to sit on our table of drunken reprobates, excitedly celebrating the 'end of season success,' but also, in saying sad farewells to our beloved Vetch at the same time.
Kris was an absolute gem, he didn't know any of us, but joined in chatting with us all and with all the arranged events Comedy and auctions and general boozy shenanigans that went on that Sunday afternoon/evening.

Can I add my positives and echo the praise written by all the previous posters on this thread, for all your work to keep us all updated about all things Swansea City Keith.
I used to be a regular poster on Swans forums years ago, but that has tailed off in recent times. The strange thing is, perhaps like many previously prolific posters I don't really know why that should be?
Can I make a suggestion? One that is guaranteed to attract a whole range of 'pelters.' And I've no doubt you may have considered it previously, But how about a small monthly subscription?
Now I haven't thought this through in any kind of detail I'll be honest, and I realise that life is increasingly expensive for us all. But a monthly contribution of say, £5, wouldn't for most of us, be too difficult to afford. It's equivalent to one pint of grog per month.
What can you get for a £5 nowadays, compared to what 'The Indy' provides for us all?
Perhaps, not to dissuade casual/occasional readers from visiting the site, you can allow 'X' amount of visits per week for free for people. But if you're a regular/daily reader/poster perhaps a small subscription would be an acceptable alternative to losing, what is to most of us a fantastic library of Swans related content.
Potentially losing Planet Swans and 'The Indy' would be a bloody tragedy for Swans fans in my opinion. Where else, as was stated earlier, can you gauge genuine fans reactions to current event. Bloody Wales Online??? No bloody thank you! Never!
Subscriptions are almost expected with other types of online interests, why not the Indy too?

Late last night my son sent two Swans photos to my WhatsApp. One for a named breakdown of all the 19 players, that left the club this window. The other for our new playing acquisitions.
What those photos did, was to focus on what most of us hoped for. Regarding the leavers, some of those players had retired, some were considered substandard 'squad' players, compared to our new influx and several young prospects were loaned to gain valuable experience. But Wow lads, it's meant 19 players off the wage bill for this season now.
The second photo as I said condensed all our new signings onto the one page. In doing that it allowed me to focus on all our new players and again...Wow, what an impressive, exciting list, of quality additions to our club.
For me, while I agree wholeheartedly with most posters positivity about this last window, not enough praise has been offered for the monumental work that went into attracting and removing so many players in equal measure, in such a short period of time.
So for me, it's a massive 'hats off' congratulations, for the whole recruitment team to enable this transformation for the club.
Allied to that of course, is the club budget, provided by our new and seemingly very ambitious owners, to enable the purchase of those 13 transfer targets. Many thanks and congratulations to them as a collective too.
How refreshing is it for us Swans fans (all too often bathed in serious disappointment at the end of a window) that they have acted so decisively, in providing such a quality and potentially exciting squad, in time to battle for a successful conclusion to this season's challenge.
It's been mooted as the best window since Laudrup's tenure. And it's very hard to disagree with that opinion.

It just so happened I learned about this, from your recently added and most informative 'Window Dealings' report.
Wow...what a window! It's so unusual to witness so many, and such quality additions, to the squad, in just the one window. You cannot compare it to any window in recent times.
What a fantastic change of emphasis from our current owners. They need to be shown considerable levels of congratulations from Swans fans. For how they've demonstrated such a supportive and, dare I say, ambitious attitude towards the team this new season. Without, as your report specifies, breaking the bank and PSR rules.
Well done the management team as a whole, for raising both the excitement and expectation levels of Swans fans everywhere. |

While I fully appreciate the clear frustrations experienced by Coleman's perceived plagiarism, producing thoughts of legal action, it really needs to be thought through.
Legal action is a) damned expensive and b) not guaranteed to succeed.
I appreciate there may well be sufficient examples available that 'proves' this to 'us posters,' but that doesn't mean it'll win the case. I don't pretend to be a solicitor, but I do have experience of what it could all entail.
Professional advice is most definitely needed, before any thoughts of rushing into action.
My thoughts would be, to continue to save as many examples of Coleman's articles as possible, in creating an undeniable collection of evidence, before producing it for the regulator. That way, hopefully both Coleman and WoL would face appropriate sanctions. [Post edited 30 Jul 2025 12:41]

I can fully relate to both Dr. W and sons of omri's posts.
It's been mentioned several times, based on reported comments from within the club. Alan Sheehan has stated, how if possible, he wants the new signings to be at the club, come the start of the 'new season training' in early July.
That extra month of learning about each other and our tactical approach (compared to our usual last minute 'desperation signings') could help negate, or certainly reduce, the 'new boys' lack of familiarity effect. Helping us to start the season more as a unit and ready for the trials and tribulations to come.
I've been wracking my grey matter, but it's hard to remember a more positive (dare I say exciting) pre-season for the club for many seasons...(2011 to 2015?) I seem to be spending a fair bit of my spare time, searching for articles/comments about the Swans, such is the uplifting effect it has on me.
The quality and 'professional planning' that is evidently going into our recruitment now, is like 'night and day' compared to our K & L ownership years.
Kudos and gratitude to our new focused and ambitious board. While they don't have football experience themselves, they have invested and brought in that experience. I could never understand how under K & L, a Championship club didn't appear to have any co-ordinated recruitment policy. Recruitment is the life-blood of any football club, let alone one in the Championship.
Letting Ben and Harry's contract situation develop as they did, is a prime example of that lack of professionalism. What efficiently run business encourages major assets worth millions, just walk out the door? Incompetence 'R' Us eh?
Football is a small world in the EFL and club/players talk. Any conversation about Swansea City will only be positive currently, helping quality players like Cameron Burgess to choose us, over rival bids from perceived bigger clubs.

Personally, I most certainly share the positives, surprise and genuine enthusiasm for what our new board have done for the club since February. However, introducing 5, or possibly (due to what Keith is hinting at) up to 8 new players, being brought into the squad, it may well take some time for them to gel as a team?
With so many being introduced into the club, this coming season could see us start quite slowly. But as the new intake, learn/adapt to the current squad, we could, just like a train, start slowly, but begin moving into top gear come November onwards? |

I was both shocked and gutted yesterday when reading about Mark.
I agree with everything that's been said about him on this thread.
Although not born in Neath, he made Neath his home for a number of years and used to drink in my local pub, the Green Dragon, where he was a very popular character indeed.
As posters have said, he was a skilful monster on the field, but a most likeable man socially.
Not only did he represent Wales in Rugby Union, but also in Rugby League too, where he was equally respected. Passing at only 59 is a most untimely age to leave his family.
I wish nothing but the best for his family and friends.
