Anyone can start a football forum, that’s easy but controlling the input and output with a daily dose of characters who manipulate and try and spoil the content is where the hard work starts. Running this site, and it is no different to other sites no matter the ‘team’ it represents is becoming more and more of a task. The commitment to click on reports and understand that this alone supports the Brain Tumour Charity feeds us with stats and keeps the site alive can’t go underestimated.
Our reporting I think is excellent and we do have a new team in the wings to start over the summer. However, I am holding back on that as the future of all websites such as this is in question. It’s a bit like pubs closing across the country. The less use they get the more chance of them shutting up shop becomes a reality.
Thousands read our content, you know that, they mostly come here for those reports, on that we are without doubt the most read Swansea City website. Look on the ‘news now’ site we are too every day and that alone confirms us as a top website. But overall it’s a failing business model. Us as much as any other website could pull down the shutters at any time, and being in this sector it happens every day. I could have opened a Manchester United website and earned thousands from its content, of course only holding an allegiance to the Swans as I have done all my life meant that really wasn’t going to happen.
We have come through personal attacks, and the type of abuse very few others would accept because it made us stronger. This isn’t the time to go into that. But websites need support. We have rid ourselves of the disgusting elements who now bully and prey elsewhere. The Psychopathic losers who become victims as soon as they are confronted, they all need batting off or they think they are in control of what you see and hear.
Every football website needs one hundred percent support or it dies. The golden era of this type of website has long gone. Websites are closing in their hundreds every day. I know of several who have decided already to pull the plug at the end of this season and it is tempting to do the same. See below. If you enjoy this type of discussion and reporting on our news pages I can only say that it needs a commitment from everyone for it to remain open and viable. As I said some have already decided to cease their operation, the majority because of the constant bullying and controlling behaviour of the main mouth pieces. We don’t have that it’s been eradicated, all we have now is our desire to make this work. I am going to give this website one more season and take stock at the end of May 2027.
But the reward is not in any way matching the effort which possibly explains my frustration at times.

Keith - I hope I speak for the many users of this site that you and the team do a fantastic job providing the content and framework for the may debates we all have on here. One of the reasons I log in is to get the 'fans eye' view of what is going on which no other news outlet can supply, you can feel a real fan behind the match reports which echo the frustrations and excitement of the fan base.

Would be a shame if this site stopped, but I get it. There seems to be a load of unstable people with agendas out there these days and they’ve found a platform to sound the garbage on. I wonder if one day people will go back to how things used to be before social media |  | | |

This is the only site I use for swans news. I don’t post that much, but I’m on here most days.
The work you and your colleagues do Keith is brilliant, & is much appreciated by myself, & I’m sure pretty much everyone on here.
Also, it’s through this site, & reading up on the charity side of things through your own personal journey, that I started donating to the brain tumour charity a little while ago.
Didn’t really want to shout that from the rooftops, but I just wanted to you, Liam and everyone else involved know that your work really does make a difference.

Can I add my positives and echo the praise written by all the previous posters on this thread, for all your work to keep us all updated about all things Swansea City Keith.
I used to be a regular poster on Swans forums years ago, but that has tailed off in recent times. The strange thing is, perhaps like many previously prolific posters I don't really know why that should be?
Can I make a suggestion? One that is guaranteed to attract a whole range of 'pelters.' And I've no doubt you may have considered it previously, But how about a small monthly subscription?
Now I haven't thought this through in any kind of detail I'll be honest, and I realise that life is increasingly expensive for us all. But a monthly contribution of say, £5, wouldn't for most of us, be too difficult to afford. It's equivalent to one pint of grog per month.
What can you get for a £5 nowadays, compared to what 'The Indy' provides for us all?
Perhaps, not to dissuade casual/occasional readers from visiting the site, you can allow 'X' amount of visits per week for free for people. But if you're a regular/daily reader/poster perhaps a small subscription would be an acceptable alternative to losing, what is to most of us a fantastic library of Swans related content.
Potentially losing Planet Swans and 'The Indy' would be a bloody tragedy for Swans fans in my opinion. Where else, as was stated earlier, can you gauge genuine fans reactions to current event. Bloody Wales Online??? No bloody thank you! Never!
Subscriptions are almost expected with other types of online interests, why not the Indy too?

I believe possibly wrongly that the majority of hits on the main articles are by visitors and these hits generate the advertising income. Charge £5 a month to access the site and the visitors [non posters] will disappear reducing the revenue. Just my thoughts. |  | | |

Personally the Indy has been my output for all Swansea News for years now and don't even bother looking at other outlets such as BBC, Wales Online etc. Like anything in life there will be things I read that I agree or disagree on but respect work that has gore into it.
Jack Army forum though active has become a ground where arguments happen to much and I have distanced myself from such arguments.
What I did like about Jack Army Forum was the accessibility of the forum and how it was easy to navigate. That aside as I'm choosing style over substance I appreciate all the work both sites put in for all Swans Fans. | | | |

I would be more than happy to pay a small fee each month if it means keeping indy going and it was lead to exclusive content with the continued depth you give the fans.
It's a difficult model and one that is almost competing with the times with social media etc, but if there was maybe an article everyday or something that is exclusive for paid Indy members only. And limited ones free for others. Also as I'm asking for the World, 😂 In ideal world would love to have more assessible and user friendly forum as Jack Army was very good with it's accessible (Features) approach. Think that will also encourage more forum activity and much more. But that is very much all fur coat 😋. Keep up good work Keith. We can't lose the indy [Post edited 22 Apr 13:48]
