The Dismay around the change of manager..... 13:00 - Dec 4 with 8967 viewsDougal_RBlock

Sometimes this MB really amazes me, the negativity around the imminent appointment of JFH is unbelievable.

I for one, have a little bit of optimism for once about this one.

For all those calling for Warnock to be given the job full time. It was made clear from the outset that this was never gonna happen, don't forget this is a manager who had retired and made it clear numerous times that he want's an upstairs job.
Yes he might have caught the bug back now, but what happens in mid feb when were playing rubbish away to Bolton and the fans all get on his back? Will he fancy it then?

I'm not doubting the work he's done since he took charge, but tbh anyone could have done a better job than Ramsey (i was never happy with his appointment).
What I'm saying is, lets get behind JFH. Let's not start with the usual doom and gloom.

Some posters have already given him nicknames as if he's set up to fail FFS!

Some will say this is Ferdinand on a mission, some will say this could be a Les Hoos masterstroke, others will just hope he fails to get on TF's case again.

The way I see it, we have appointed an up and coming manager who has worked his "apprenticeship" in Belguim and then the lower leagues.

THIS COULD BE REALLY GOOD!
I can't remember the last time QPR poached another manager from a club that is doing well.

Some of the managers I remember in my lifetime are ;
Houston, Harford, Waddock, Dowie, Gregory, Di Canio, Magilton, Sousa, Hart, Hughes, Redkanpp, Holloway and Warnock.

I mean come on??? Other than the last 3 (Redknapp because of Wembley) that is an awful list. So for me once again QPR are doing something new, which I'm going to go along with and will give him more than just this season to prove himself.
Just look at what Gary Rowett has done at Birmingham and he started at Burton.
There are positives here, so let's get behind him and the team.

C'mon you f**king suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper

I enjoyed having Warnock back, but i'm equally looking forward to seeing what Jimmy can do.

Exactly the sort of manager I was hoping we were going to appoint in the summer, so although it took them awhile to get there i think the club have made the right move.

Who knows, maybe with 8 days to work with the team we will even see a new manager bounce from JFH for once?

Agree entirely. Not sure if it's me getting older or the domination of social media these days, but everyone seems to take a much shorter term view of everything. Far too short at the moment.

Will always be grateful to NW for what he achieved here but for the long run? I don't think a couple of scrappy 1-0 wins is decisive in the long run, and as NW himself said last night, the wins could easily have gone another way as could the narrow defeats at Derby and Middlesbrough.

We now have a chance to continue the LONG TERM plan of restoring the club to what it used to be before FB and TF arrived, and I'm happy for NW to take pride in the fact that he played a huge role in what could be an exciting future under a new manager.

Yep, agree totally with the sentiments of the OP.

Warnock a legend. Statue worthy or at the very least the club should send him and Sharon an email with their thanks for his efforts, commitment and passion during his two successful stints with us.

And now we find ourselves in the relatively rare position of having made a promising managerial appointment, one for the future and one who comes highly recomended.

Personally I'm looking forward to it and and I think it's going to be good. In fact I'm worried that it might actually get a bit boring ar Rangers/LFW over the coming months as everyone buys into JFH and what he's doing, as the team start to perform and Fernandes is nowhere to be seen. In fact will soon be hankering for the days when we used to infight and stick to our agendas despite all the evidence ot the contrary. Now we're just going to be agreeing with everything and be one big bunch of Happy Clappers.

Boring Boring Rangers...

Thanks for posting this. It saves me the trouble of writing in full what seems so blindingly obvious but in a nutshell.

NW didn't want the job but thx 4 all he's done. Give the new guy a chance (hasn't even taken charge of a match yet). Name calling at this stage is beyond juvenile. Appointed after what most people said they wanted, - a structured interview process. Hopefully he'll build 4 the future, as a young hungry manager, which is what a smallish, relatively poor club needs to do.

Er... That's it.

Excellent OP.
I couldn't agree more. Regardless of how I feel about the Ramsey appointment or Warnock's,it is sort of irrelevant now anyway.
I'm fully backing JFH.
Btw, I wasn't intending to give my main man Jimmy a derogatory nickname on the other thread I was just pulling Holloways leg a bit...and Lblocks...

I'm neither pleased or unhappy at this appointment. I'll watch and reserve judgment. Dont know if its the case for some people that may be moaning about JFH, but pretty much from day one, this has been the name that the powers that be wanted and so maybe some people may be a bit sceptical about just how "structured" the process was. ( Taking past " structured processes" into account).Personally I would have liked to have tempted Rowet from Birmingham. Built the team that JFH took over at Burton and seems to have steadied a rocking shop at Birmingham. But hayho lets wait and see.

I'm one of those that is a bit disappointed to be honest, but not because I think JFH is a bad choice. If we were still stuck with Ramsey or didn't have anyone then I'd say he was a very good choice.

But we had someone in charge who is a proven manager at this level, seemed to want the job and was just starting to get things right so it seems a shame to get rid of him. Especially after last time when we got rid to get a manager who was supposed to be much better and turned out to be completely shit.

My only concern is the expectation on JFH and the knee jerk reaction from the board come May if we do not get promoted.

My concern was raised because Paul Morrissey asks him specifically on the offy first interview what his target was knowing that the expectation of the club was for promotion THIS season.

It worries me that they have gone for JFH as another short term punt at getting back to the promised land.

His rolling contract is probably negotiated so that IF he gets us up this year he gets a huge bonus , a revised contract and a consignment of specially chosen cheeses from LFW.

I am not concerned about the appointment - only the expectations of our owners and their short termism if that is indeed why they have gone for JFH.

If that is genuine, then that is very magnanimous of you to come on here and say so. I don't think I would have been able to do so having lost a manager who was doing so well - unless you all actually hate him behind it all

Warnock ideal for bringing some stability to the defence and central midfield, it was crying out for that, but not so sure he would have been the man to sort out the attacking side.

For four and a half seasons we've been playing without pace and players who can create space. Give JFH the time to sort this issue out.

surely ( apart from extreme cases like Steve Evans or Mourinho FFS ) any new manager ( or player for that matter ) should be , so to speak, " innocent until proven guilty " ? ie we back him and give him the benefit of the doubt, if there is any ? Why on Earth would any rational person with half a brain be questioning the guy when he hasn't stepped through the door yet ? Extraordinary. And fair play to the Burton post. It was a very friendly place when we played them in the cup last season. Makes a pleasant change from Millwall/Cardiff/Scum etc

Thanks BB and good luck to you in your search for your next manager/the promotion push.

Come back in a few weeks. It will be interesting to see if Jimmy is able to continue his winning ways in W12. Or whether the overall QPR set up will smother him.

This club seems to have a habit of turning seemingly-decent managers and players into rubbish immitations.

Many thanks, looks likely that Nigel clough could be returning to us.
A little insight into Jimmy Floyd for you....
We became a very hard team to break down, he worked wonders in my opinion , our midfield worked their socks off and provided lots of goals, good thing with our very limited resources. Nasser el Kahati is a great tricky winger and a real goal threat and I feel that Jimmy will be chasing him for yourselves very shortly. Very sad to see him leave, a genuinely nice guy..
