A win would be great tonight. I don't buy into this laborious argument made by some on here in the past that a cup run doesn't matter and the League Cup is not important. If it wasn't important why have big guns like Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool won the League Cup over the last 7 seasons? That tells me they take the competition seriously. Every game matters. Blatant defeatism doesn't. |  |

It matters. No-one expects QPR to have any sort of cup run and won't be surprised if we lose, so it's a free opportunity to sort out the first XI against decent(ish) opposition with effectively no consequence. Even if we lose, any sort of improvement will be helpful in the league. A battling, close-fought game would do everyone the world of good.
