Smyth - 'Let us down' might be a bit strong but he was awful v Sheff Utd in his only league start & was subbed at half time.

I thought he had a very good Half defensively against Sheffield and provided good support and cover to Furlong. He was right in front of me in (East Paddock) for 45 minutes and only criticism was he was to gung-ho when we regained possession, trying to take men on and getting bullied out of it by Sheffield Utd. Having seen how they played at Bramall Lane, they'd did the same to our more experienced players the same. I thought it was harsh to pull him at Half Time but understand why McClaren did. I've seen some awful performances this year and some players have let us and their teammates down, but imo this was far from it. Only 'harsh' criticism from me was he was trying to hard. |  | | |
