I know it’s only a friendly but we do look good in possession - now that we have the players to play a passing game. This has always been the way I want to see us play - but we need to be patient as fans because we will make mistakes at the back and there will be heart-stopping moments.

Only watching on the website but I would say a very encouraging half. Watford's goal was a flukey deflection, but we've been neat in our passing and have kept a good shape. I like Amos and Smith in the middle and I've been impressed by the composure of Hall and Barbet - with even Lumley looking more comfortable on the ball. Bright Samuel's shot that hit the inside of the post would go in 99 times out of a 100 and we just need to create a little more now. The Slovenian striker has been willing but not too involved yet. Hope we don't make too many subs too early, as this looks pretty much the Stoke team | | | |
