Another Jan Mlakar translation. In Greek it’s John Wænker.

Oteh on for Eze.

The longer this game has progressed the more we have looked like a 'team'

Some really good football since the hour mark. If only we had a quality finisher ............

On this showing I am confident that those supporters who think we are this years 'Ipswich' are in for being very disappointed.

I'm sure our first few games will be difficult/dissapointing but I reckon we'll do a good bit better this season than last

Sounds like Eze had a great game. Very relieved as maybe my biggest worry of pre season was the suggestion he'd be stuck out on the wing. But then I suppose if there's one thing you can definitely expect of Warburton it's 10s free to wander around.

Three good signings too. Positive day.

Have we found a new, more palatable way to lose?

Eze was my MOTM.

Watford played with five back and a bank of four ahead of them. Very defensive. It took a while before we got into the pockets of space necessary if that system has to be broken down, and it was Eze who spotted the gaps, roamed in and out of them and had the skills and flicks to control and deliver the ball before he was closed down.

Very impressed with Barbet and Ball, too - and Amos and Smith are clearly very talented. But Eze ran the show. Fine performance.

Nobody wants us to be this years Ipswich and nobody would take any pleasure if it happened

Staying up will be a massive achievement

Bit of a surprise package that one. Fits the system really well.

Still early days of course. But worth noting, the Aberdeen reviews weren't that he was rubbish, just that he didn't do much and was a bit anonymous.

Bare bones.

Ball has been a surprise package for me.

Seems to have instant ball control and lays off passes speedily and accurately and can get himself out of a tight mess.

Looks like MW's go to man.

Thought Amos & Smith also looked composed on the ball.

Mannings crossing was pretty good however he was the only one doing so until Shodipo came on.

I know its only a friendly but I'm more excited by this crop of youngsters than I have been for several seasons.

I only hope Chair is given a fair chance

captains fantastic

The team we had on the pitch in the first half, actually looked reasonably comfortable playing out from the back.

I think the system will sometimes see us taken apart by tactically astute teams, and othertimes we will look amazing.

But if that's the system, this time around we seem to have a number of players capable implementing it.

While Watford were hardly attack minded, actually liked our look today.

Yes, I thought Eze and Ball had good games and Amos looked good also.

Perhaps Smith, Chair and Scowen fighting for one place?
Pugh and BOS for another.

Christ I hope so.

Agree we look ok at times in pre-season, but there is not enough goals in our squad, so Ipswich Part 2 is still a possibility.

Just in case you are not clear, just because I think it could happen, does not mean I want it to. So my disappointment will only emerge if it does happen.

I think it will all be about confidence with this lot and the playing style the manager wants to play. We start well, we'll be OK, if not, I'd worry...

Can we go out yet?
