QPR looking at yet another keeper 19:27 - Sep 18 with 8110 viewsBenny_the_Ball

I realise that Lumley has made a few errors but I'm genuinely surprised at this given the number of keepers currently on our books. Apparently QPR are trialling 29 year-old Austrian goalkeeper Heinz Lindner.

Suggests Warbs is underwhelmed with both our squad 'keepers maybe?

What's George Harrison doing there?

as he signed 2 of the 3 we have and presumably approved the new contract for Dieng, that doesn't really make sense.

Sure it does. A good manager is always looking to improve his personnel. Whether he previously acquired other players in the same position or not, provided that doing so is within his budget. It's a competitive game, both in matches and for team places.

Warburton likely believes, although not in public, that we can crack on this season. An experienced and confident head between the sticks might make all the difference, as neither of our keepers have really grabbed the opportunity. If we were seventh from bottom instead of seventh from top he might think differently, but carpe diem... like.

Goal-keeping equivalent of all those video comps that make strikers look like world-beaters - lots of reaction saves and finger-tip over the bar stuff, not too many commanding claims of corners and crosses....but one penalty save!

was that put together by his agent ?

i wonder if the lad from colchester was signed to enable us to loan out Dieng and big B, in order to push them on with league experience.

I think we could certainly upgrade on Lumley (Can't really give an opinion on Kelly) but equally, won't be upset if we stick with what we've already got.

No idea, I just googled the bloke and that was one of two videos that popped up. There's another one that looks like it was made by an Eintracht fan.

Here's one of him at the other end of the pitch:

If Warburton was confident with the way Kelly is training and playing then he will be playing at Millwall - we will see. If he doesnt play and Lumley is playing despite not exactly playing great, then he must be having second thoughts about Kelly or wants to see more of him. Interesting times.

Anyone know the background to why Linder is a free agent?
