FAO Discoroid 18:16 - Jan 25 with 1640 views | loftboy | The Boleyn closed down this week, meant to be redeveloped as flats with a smaller version of the pub underneath, bet that part doesn’t happen. Literally only got the Queens tavern within walking distance of me now.

FAO Discoroid on 18:32 - Jan 25 with 1593 views | traininvain | Wrong! The Boleyn is in safe hands. It was bought by Remarkable Pubs last year. They run a nice group of pubs in east / north London. If it’s closed they’ll be refurbishing. It probably couldn’t be in better hands.
FAO Discoroid on 18:32 - Jan 25 with 1591 views | NoDiddley | is The Denmark still going ? a bit further up the Barking Road but a proper shite hole pub, my brother lives in east ham so had a few in there plus the White Horse , Hammers etc over the years. Times they are a changin'

FAO Discoroid on 20:15 - Jan 25 with 1374 views | Discodroids | The East Ham Working mens club will reopen in 2021 next to the Old West Ham ground at the base of a block of flats. I never liked the boleyn pub rob. The Green Man, the wakefield, the Duke of edinburgh and the Central were cracking boozers. All gone now. The Black lion in plaistow is about the best of sparse offerings. Can't beleive the Victoria in plaistow is still going... The White horse opp the park was my local back in the early 90's... Good News. I'm an East Ham boy to my chakra and glad to see the boozer has a future. The Area needs it.

Are these the group that sell a good pint of Litovel in all their pubs? If so, couldn't agree more.
FAO Discoroid on 14:04 - Jan 26 with 824 views | terryb | The Boleyn & The Denmark Arms are just two of the hundreds of pubs I carried out stocktakes in. I got on reasonably well with the managers in both! It was a job I never enjoyed, but I loved the lifestyle. Visiting different pubs every day & then proping up the bar!

That’s right. They import directly from Czech Republic. I’m sure some will have a moan about gentrification but Remarkable genuinely love pubs and take great pride in restoring buildings like the Boleyn. They outbid a property developer to buy the pub and will do everything possible to keep it open as a pub.

That good to know, will keep an eye out to see how it pans out. Funniest thing I heard in there was when I was having a quick pint after work mid afternoon, I was the only one in there, then a bloke walks in and the barmaid gives him the filthiest look, he throws a few quid on the bar and says “ did I say something wrong last night, have a dink on me”to which she replied “ I would rather shit in my hands and clap than let you buy me a drink” thought the geezer was going to lump me as I couldn’t stop laughing.
