Rant of the day 14:56 - Apr 15 with 1429 viewsloftboy

Just delivered in the west end, Victoria, wapping and Westminster. The park by Westminster Cathedral was full of sunbathers, the cycle paths between Westminster and Tower Hill were like the Tour de France, there’s tourists walking around taking photos of everything, as I headed home down the barking road you wouldn’t even know there was a lockdown. The only way out of this is to make restrictions tighter. IE permission for be out the house, in Spain it’s done via a government text. These selfish bastards are ruining it for everyone.
The only place that was deserted was my delivery in the centre of china town.

I went to Regent's Park yesterday and while there were a few people sitting on the grass (miles from anybody else) nobody was sunbathing.

Completely different in Ipswich loftboy!

I go for my daily walk in parks or the waterfromt & rarely see more than twenty people, who are all keeping more than the two metres distance. Even the car parking allows for social distancing!

These are less crowded than the streets are, due to people walking to the shops!

Forget the fact these selfish bastards are ruining it for everyone - these vvankers are playing fast and loose with the health of my parents, your parents, you, me and everyone in the NHS

The last thing I want is a TOTAL lockdown, be a mare for me if I couldn’t walk the dogs. However it’s looking like that’s what’s needed. I said the other day that it was noted to me that Southall Broadway was carrying on as usual. It’s a disgrace.

We’ve not been helped by wishy washy approaches from the government; I look at New Zealand’s approach with envy. Now she’s a proper leader!!

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

If you go out in France, and you're only allowed out for a handful of specified reasons, you have to take an attestation with you, dated, timed and signed.
If you get stopped by gendarmes or police and haven't got one, its 135 Euro fine for 1st offence, 1500 for second.

I think added to that, the number of people doing daily shopping or non-essential shopping is quite high in some areas. I could be totaly wrong and may be a bit harsh but I've seen so many people going in and out of shops buying one or two things here and there. I go once a week and do one shop that will last for that week. Why expose myself and everyone else because I ran out of orange juice on day 3?

This would be great if France had a lower rate of infection than us. But they don't. Their curve on cases is pretty much the same as ours, but they started earlier. On deaths they are worse than us. With a smaller population.

Meanwhile, in Germany, which has one of the lower death rates, they are planning to re-open shops and schools.

I'm not knocking the principle of lockdown, (almost) everyone has done it, but the jury is still out on how effective different aspects are. I'm not seeing evidence that stopping people sunbathing or walking along an empty beach has any effect other than making some people feel good about how seriously they are taking things.

We have a great place near us for a walk but selfish poxy cyclists keep whizzy past us 2/3 at a time
So have now gone up the road a bit jumped over the fence and do our walks over the local golf course, the scenery is fantastic and there is no sod about either

I went to Liddle today and actually thought that all corona virus restrictions and advice had been lifted.

No one had gloves except myself and 1 lady. staff didnt have them, or masks, and they never once obeyed the 2m rule.

In fact the 2 NHS workers in the queue behind didnt keep the 2m rule either.
it was a shopping 'free for all' with people being surprised that i would stop 2m away from them.

These are all fecking muppets playing fast and loose with everyones health.
Bloody useless scousers.

Unless there’s something strict as in France I can just see people In a few weeks going “ah, fk it” and just carrying on as normal.
