Big Lyndon has been named in the Scotland squad today. Good.

Poll: Moses Odubajo - Stick or Twist?

Any thread with 'Scotland' in the title is usually worth avoiding but I'm a glutton for punishment.
The fact we're now discussing our lack of Ireland call ups disguises the fact Liam Kelly should also be in the squad, he didn't force himself in with good performances unfortunately but he should be at least no.2 to David Marshall, McLaughlin is decent but McCrorie is nowhere near the standard yet.
It probably is due to the fact McLaughlin and McCrorie are playing competitive matches and preseason dragging Kelly off to sit on the bench wouldn't be helpful for anyone really but I had high hopes he would put together a run of good performances and be Scotland no1 on the back of it, ultimately it was those poor post lock down games that cost him at club and country.
Dislodging Lumley will hopefully be difficult now although I have always thought that the plan was for Lumley to put in a good season last year, to get sold and then Kelly and Dieng were next on the conveyor. Shame about the loss of form mid season!
Anyhow, hopefully Lyndon gets a chance and does the biz. Israel are pretty average defensively with a couple of good forward players and of course a brilliant Hibs goalkeeper who he has already stuck a pen alty past this season, I've a feeling he could start the game

Ye need to get over the name guys. Firstly it's grossly offensive to women - there is no point in supporting an anti-racist campaign against black people if you are then going to use homophobic slurs. The argument that it's 'just a bit of banter' doesn't wash in 2020. Secondly, Dykes is quite a common celtic surname. There are several people whose surname is Dykes in Ireland, including a very talented CB for Sligo Rovers for over a decade in the 90's

Exactly Myke, I mean, are we still living in the 60’s?

Before you know it there’ll be childish nicknames and insinuations he wants the FA Cup renamed the Furry Cup. It’s disgraceful.
Our fans need to wise up and get behind not only #BLM but also #LyndonsGenderDontMatter

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

The new, ironic, LBlock would wholeheartedly support Scotland in their endeavours during the next qualifiers.
I'm thinking this will flush out the original...

Aren’t we generally a better team with one or two Scottish players?

In 2020? An outrageous suggestion, no call for that.

Oh! Misunderstood for a moment. Yes, i saw that. We've clearly had a big improvement on his game since he's been with us.

That's not an offensive sexist post.

It's a lookalike post. Wee Jimmy Krankie = Sturgeon.

Does the Europa League (or whatever it is called) count as a competitive appearance?

If Dykes was to play for Scotland in a euro or world cup qualifier he would be committed to play for them, but could he still change his mind after these games?

This picture isn’t meant as a homophobic slur ffs. It’s a parody of Nicola Sturgeon.

Pretty sure all black 'jokes' are parodying someone Loftboy. A more accurate barometer would be asking any gay female friend if she finds the picture/comments offensive. 'Parody' is always hilarious as long as you are not the target

Myke,

I agree with your overall point that homophobic jokes are a no-go. 100%. But I think that picture was just to illustrate that Nicola Sturgeon looks like Jimmy Krankie, with no allusions to sexuality at all. Or at least that's how I read it.

Ok. But the picture wasn't a stand alone comment since we signed Dykes. I have a cousin who is gay , a complete no no in Catholic Ireland and had to move to Australia to be her real self. I just think we sometimes forget that what appear funny is often extremely hurtful

Couldn't agree more on the overall point. Absolutely, without a doubt.

I just think that picture was a lookalike comment, and nothing else.

Been edited since. Jimmie Krankie came into the thread later, agree with Myke.

I am still Steve but no longer in Dagenham.

How is that picture homophobic, it’s a woman dressed as a schoolboy who had her own show on CBBC who happens to look a lot like the leader of the SNP.?

I haven’t made one comment on this thread that is homophobic, if you are going to quote someone’s post then use one that actually is.,

Maybe it should have been Mykes for Scotland then.
