Was Denis Nielsen an R? 16:51 - Sep 15 with 2914 views | Harbour | Anyone watch the Denis Nielsen drama last night? When he walked up to his flat with the detective waiting anyone notice he had a blue and white scarf round his neck. Great realistic performance by Tennant absolutely shocking story. Hoping scarf was not an rs one.

As was Timothy Evans who was wrongfully convicted and hanged for Christie's murders at Rillington Place. [Post edited 15 Sep 2020 17:36]

Was Denis Nielsen an R? on 20:43 - Sep 15 with 2125 views | SimplyNico | I lived in Melrose Avenue in Willesden Green where the first batch of murders took place for a period of about 6 months when I was a student back in the early 90s. I was doorstepped coming home one evening by a mass of press photographers and journalists. I went up to my top floor flat where my highly volatile Parisian girlfriend was staying and who threatened to throw a bucket of water on them if they rang the doorbell again. They did and so did she. Turned out that the guy in the flat below had reported Norman Lamont's credit card being rejected at Thresher in Praed Street when he was Chancellor to the press. Fast forward 25 years and I was at restaurant in Arundel when in walked Lord (Norman) Lamont and sat at the next table to me.

What number Melrose? My grandparents were at 89.

As I say, I was there for six months As I recall, it was owned by an older Irish couple. It was the coldest building I have ever lived in.

Sounds like my grandparents' place! My grandad was a labourer, but scraped together enough to buy an old house there, at one point they had 12 lodgers as well as a big family of their own. My mum was brought up there, and my Dad met her when he was staying there. At some time or other (50s and 60s), he and seven of his siblings lived along Melrose Avenue, along with a few cousins.
