George Orwell says seven. The local paper is no longer so sure.

Brilliant as ever, been looking forward to this all day

One word on the ref, there was a decsion in the first half which baffled me. Roberts did that soft collapse on the floor and hope for a free kick on the touch line laying on the ball and rightly nothing was given but the Sheffield united player clearly has a kick at Roberts in frustration. Roberts was the one spoken to by the ref and all passed without comment. Are you now allowed to just have a kick at someone when they are on the floor? One for Pinnear really but I found that incident and the lack of any protest from anyone bizarre.

I'd gave docked a point off the ref score. Should have given Egan a second yellow in the second half for a bad foul.

I did actually make a note of that, but we were all so confused by it I left it out!

Definitely 7 hills because indie folk band Robberie said so.

Thanks Clive.

Very enjoyable report. I particularly liked;

'and three or four of the worst, most pathetic and personally shameful penalty appeals you’ll ever see from Roddy McScotsman. Each one followed by a prolonged spell of testiculating at the match officials - the sort of bitchy, whiny moaning about nothing of any consequence at all that would make him an ideal guest for Loose Women'.

I'm intrigued by the 'Calm down Lynn' reference as I may have used the phrase once or twice (or more) to my long-term partner. I'd be fascinated to know the source?

Roberts was lying on the ball and he kicked the ball. Looked bad live but the replays looked less so. Not necessary at all but didn’t kick Roberts.

The whistle had already gone and the United player had two goes, totally unnecessary and could certainly be construed as violent conduct. He knew what he was doing without a doubt and had the boot been on the other foot I’m sure it would have led to a mass brawl instigated by United players to get one of ours sent off. As for Egan, that second tackle in my view could easily have led to a straight red given the force of his follow through which could have caused serious injury. Have seen players sent off in the PL for tackles like that. It was totally unnecessary given where the ball was and the direction our player was facing.

I really like the image of our fans huddled together behind the goal at this match. We look like a family and it feels like it at the moment too. Even on the pitch with big brother Mick at the helm, and No.1 son Sam holding everything together in the middle. Little nephews Ilias and Kenny tearing it up and the daughter’s fiancé Seny between the sticks. Our cousin Jimmy from Ireland and foster son Ethan. Rich Uncle Rubin and Tony…

Sounds like a Danny Paddox opportunity here

Well, if its no foul - which it wasn't as ref hadn't blown for one - then Roberts has no right laying on the ball. Certainly Sheff Utd player has no right to try to kick the ball (3 times) though! and Roberts was daft grabbing his shirt.

Could easily have been 2 yellows - with some refs it would have been, but much prefer the light touch of a talking to both.

Ignore Nick London's ott reaction, it wasn't even a foul, no one complained including Sam F who was 'fouled'.

Oh yeah Roberts was wrong to lay on the ball but I just found it odd that the Sheff Utd player could just have a couple of kicks at him and nothing was done. he could say he was trying to get the ball but he knew what he was doing

He did speak to him and if you yellow him, as I said, perfectly ok to, then you have to yellow Roberts for the shirt grab.

was seny dieng not taking free kicks b/c of a thigh problem?

my theory at the time was that after he had been booked for time wasting, he didnt want to get a second yellow, so deputized dunne to basically do the time wasting on free kicks....

Just watched it again, he never speaks to the Sheff Utd player, I always thought that was a red card if you just kick out at a player like that, is about 16 mins in

I'm going to look at the 90' again soon, I'm sure he did when I saw it live.

The first kick seemed to work the ball free, so he could have come away with it then but what he does is kick it at Roberts, seemingly deliberately, which is a bit naughty and could have been a booking.
