Well, the club did sign him originally. It wasn't this message board that signed him. It wasn't a particular manager that signed him. It definitely wasn't Millwall that signed him. It was Chris Ramsey's team that got him in, Evil Les and his "gym teachers" who rebuilt him after Millwall released him. Bit like how they also brought in Chair, who may well also hopefully go for a few quid in the next months or so.
No recruitment is perfect. But the worst thing QPR has done since LF became DOF is allow managers to still periodically sign players. That's where the wastage is. We're about to watch it happen again, perhaps most disastrously. The recruitment team generally buys decent players for this level, considering the price range it shops in.
I now await the list of bad players QPR have signed in recent seasons. Yes, I know the names too. But I'd always trust the chances of any signing made by the recruitment department over signings recommended by individual managers.
Eze is a brilliant player, and seemingly lovely person: in many ways, he's proof why Les was doing a good job (burn the heretic!), why you need a thoughtful DOF who wants to influence a club's DNA, vet and stress-test the signings (as well as scouts like Gary Penrice - signings tapered off after he was allowed to leave). Same with Chair, Dieng, Willock, Freeman, Field: there's a pattern of player there. The fact the water was so muddied by Warburton's last intake and then Beale's signings is sadly proof why it's probably time for a different DOF, someone who says no to managers signing players again. Let's see what the summer brings instead. |

Nah, he came on a week's trial because Ramsey knew his agent at Spurs as a player. It's easy to find the stories: Eze's been quoted several times about it (weirdly, despite how often people on this board want to credit Gareth for his development, he never mentions him - unsurprisingly perhaps as he only played 20 games for Wycombe).
He always credits Ramsey along with Andy Impey, Paul Hall and - gasp - Les Ferdinand. Chris Ramsey is one of the best-connected, most respected development coaches in the country. He knew about Eze. Actually, there's a good piece about it here from last month. I wish all those morons sticking up clown memes could read as well.

Yeah, I have a concern he’ll stay with Palace too.
Arsenal would be the best fit but sounds like they prefer Maddison.
Newcastle will likely throw money around but I’m not sure where he will play in their shape.
Liverpool really could do with him if they wanted to reinvent themselves and look to the future, but if Klopp tries again to have a high press side in a 433 shape, I don’t know where he would play for him.

City, no.
Spurs? Not sure where he’ll fit in or if they’d spend the cash.

Right. Other than calling everyone an idiot, what would you do to change the current situation then? Because the club is drifting and apparently that's fine, we need to just let it happen, protesting will only lead to worse.
Granted the owners are propping the club up financially and IMO that is the one thing that stops them from getting any sort of real flack. (As ever; I'm not talking about random cnts on twitter, I'm talking about on here amongst proper QPR fans who either currently or for a period have gone home and away) - But ultimately who is at fault for the state we're in? For me it's the owners. Ultimately. It has to be. But also - the operations, the comms, the MD.....They all play a part. So who do you think is responsible? Or should we just accept being miles behind rival clubs like Luton, Fulham, Brentford etc - Shut up and deal with it? |  |

When the owners took over, we were a Premier League club, having taken Warnock and several key players from Palace when they went into administration. Now the only thing to celebrate is a Palace player getting an England cap. 👠| | | |

I don't think its new though, I have been going home and away for most of my adult life and in that time the club has lurched from one crisis to another with a rare good season thrown in to maintain the addiction. It finally felt that we had a plan under Hoos and Ferdinand, or least the signs were there and they were saying the right things, but its fair to say that it has not worked or Ferdinand has not been able to make it work from a football stance. So very surprised he has not resigned this summer or been let go by the club. One thing I would say is that the people who have made it work at the other clubs you mention rarely have those skills on their CV. | | | |

England have been a successful side in recent years and there have been some very solid displays.
We certainly have a few world class players and although currently Ebere is not that man, he has the potential to play that maverick role.
An amazing goal or two and a few showcase moments could really mean he has the potential to be the X factor for the team.
Would love him to set the international stage on fire, its a big big ask, but he definitely does have something that is very very rare in the game.
He makes the amazingly difficult look effortless. And he glides across the pitch - again thats not seen often - for England Hoddle is the only one that springs to mind for me.
But also he does live up to his name - the game looks Eze and his personality is that of a very laid back and Eze going character.
Everything so far, he has taken in his stride - i think and hope he focusses on it as just another game if he is involved - odds on Ebere to score !!!!!!
