Media reporting that Tony Fernandes has disposed of his controlling interest in the club but he hasn't had a controlling interest for several years!
The man's wreckless spending and flouting of the Financial Fair Play regulations landed the club in a huge mess the affects of which we are very much still feeling today. Cesar, Rio, Park were his signings not Hughes. McClaren was his final mistake.
He should of stayed, with a non controlling interest, and pumped his cash in to the club to try and rectify the damage that he has done but no he walks away.

Smart move by TF. His share value would take a serious hit in L1 next year.
We really need to get a grip of the ship. I have never not wanted a season to start but this is how I feel about this one.

What I didn't realise was that his Dad is worth $1.4 Billion according to Forbes and Ruben is CEO of the business. Didn't realise he was that wealthy but maybe that explains why he can absorb the debt, 1.5 mill a month is probably less than his bar bill.
Likewise for Mittal's, QPR is worth more to them as a status symbol than an investment, while recognising the impending ridicule the phrase garners for little old QPR.
Tony on the other hand is only worth $335 million and its probably all in Air Asia stock that you feel could go anywhere over the next few years. |  |

I believe Tony genuinely tried his best and one would imagine he is seriously out of pocket.
Why should he keep pumping money into the club when it's going down the sinkhole ?
His biggest mistake was bringing in Mark Hughes and allow him to run the club like we were Real Madrid.
The best club owners are the ones you never hear from buy keep the club ticking over.
I know we didn't have social media in the early 90s but Richard Thompson ran our club as a sustainable business, I don't think anyone can argue with that.
Chris Wright could have bankrupt the club with his panic buy signings, Mike Sheron
Being the biggest example.
As for the silver fox Briarore, he made us a laughing stock.
The best thing he came out with on that documentary was "tell me who the fans are that are booing or I'll sell the club".
The soap opera that is our football club is in a perverse way one of the reasons we keep coming back.

He does seem like a genuinely nice bloke from what I've seen of him over the years. Sadly don't think that's one of the 'essential skills' and it has all been a bit fcuking mental.

Personally, regardless of any errors Tony may have made in his time here one thing that couldn’t be questioned was his commitment to the club and the community.
Today’s news potentially (probably?) places an even greater burden on Ruben to continue funding the club at a time when the financial position is already dire.
Given their friendship and being partners in business it always gave me a sense of confidence their financial support of the club would continue. An ‘in it together’ type of thing. Whilst I’m sure Ruben would have known about this for some time and by not exiting together he has, for the time at least, committed to continue playing a role at QPR. My concern would be today’s developments potentially making him more likely to question this than he previously would have done if the season unfolds the way so many of us are predicting.
As many have eluded to previously, without the outside support Tune offer the club would be out of the frying pan and into the fire financially. |  | | |

He was probably a nice guy but his naivety just ruined us. Just really poor decision making and handled fans expectations appallingly. I just couldn't take the guy seriously.

Not massively surprised by the TF decision.
I think his heart was always in the right place, but he was too naive and became too emotionally involved with things.
Ruben seems more hands-off with the day-to-day running, which should mean less knee-jerk reactions.
He's also got his fingers in other sports teams/businesses, notably LAFC, so you think with that sort of portfolio, he sees the value in remaining invested in us. |  | | |

Me neither the debt that has been incurred has been converted into shares and the owners have absorbed the debt, it's true they have lost millions keeping the club afloat.
