Seen a few negative posts concerning Danny Simpson. Can we please at least see these players play a few games before slagging them off!

There is no doubt that this guy is a good player and if he shows the right attitude we have to give him a chance and get behind him.

Obviously if he laughs in defeat and slams the ball at Green from 3 inches we'll boo him relentlessly.

Never knowingly right.

I'd like to see 2 out for every 1 we bring in.

I think most seem to agree he's of the right quality, but just a few doubts as to why he has dropped a division at 26?

Thinking he's only joined for the £££££ and London nightlife are not unreasonable concerns given the last summers signings - still we will see next season.

It think he's dropping a division to get a game and a contract to be honest.

Doesn't look like Prem clubs are queuing up for him.

Maybe this works in our favour though - he'll be keen to prove tim wrong, rather than coast by, picking up a cheque? He's young enough to want to play in the Prem again. I'd rather think that of him than that he's yet another mercenary ...

Wonder what Harriman thinks of this new signing? Not exactly a vote of confidence in our youth ranks is it?

That said, on paper it looks more like the type of signing we should be making rather than the people who turned up at Loftus Road calling themselves footballers last season. Curtains for Boswinker

Mainly because that might be a less convincing case than getting rid of the excuse for a footballer we had last year in this position does.

Dunne won't be cheap wages wise and has been off injured for most of a year. I would hope that he would be another Ryan Nelson type signing, but fingers would be very much crossed.

Think Dunne will go to the Scottish Rangers, from what I heard.

On Simpson he's better than what we have so thats a step forward. If Harriman is the number 2 right back that's a big step up for him and i'm sure he'll be delighted with that

According to my Newcastle supporting mate: "You're getting a good player in Danny Simpson. Honest, hard working and defends well." I'm happy with that.

Well thats the new season in the Championship started for me - I've ordered my ST's and we've made a signing. Time to start looking forward rather than back. Without going OTT with confidence lets all be a bit more positive.

I can see very little wrong and a lot right with the signing of Danny Simpson and I wish him well in a QPR shirt.

How much a week do we think he's signed on? Newcastle offered him a pay rise from £10k/week to £25k/w which the papers said at the time he was unhappy with.

He still had 19 appearances for Newcastle next season considering they bought in extra players in his position.

This signing must make Michael Harriman, anyone in the youth squad and their managers give up.

QPR - we fook it up through 'Arry and his dog.

why would it make them give up? Are we supposed to only pick youngsters now regardless of ability? Would he not want to work hard and earn his place?

Harriman is a decent young player and good back up but if we had gone into the season with him as first choice we're asking for trouble imo

We've got to start paying the right level of wages though - michu is swansea's top earner on 25k a week for example. You don't have to bow to stupid demands, just be savvy.

Hopefully Simpson isn't on anything like 25k or if he is it's made up with performance or appearance clauses.

Happy with this signing. Anybody who bothered to go on a toon board would see they wished him the best and said he is a mid table premiership player. Still some on here are unhappy

Going to take at least the off season for some to lose the negativity...
Happier with Simpson arrival than Bridge - right age and proven ability if some question marks over past 12mths off field. Would've paid same/more wages for Bridge and well over 30.
Hope at least one or two juniors get chances next season but to expect a youngster with game or two under his belt to be main man at RB is bit much.
I'm choosing to see this as positive move with more to follow!

Behave.
The average wage in the Championship is about 7,000 per week. If we're paying more than £10k we're overpaying.

£25K per week is £1.3m per year or about one third of what we will bring in from ALL season ticket sales. On one player?

As to Harriman. It's too much of a step up from an impressive full debut to playing 46 games per season at the age of 20. I understand that Simpson can play left back as well. So when Traore gets injured in the first 3 games, Simpson to LB and Harriman comes in.
