Angry? (Non QPR) on 16:06 - Aug 28 with 2157 views | Phildo | Used to do some work for a truly odious individual who nevertheless had coughed up 60k to one of the political parties. Magically in the HOL now giving it the big one and on the hogs back. 60k not a bad investment to get on that merry go round.
Angry? (Non QPR) on 16:38 - Aug 28 with 2090 views | easthertsr | How in the holy name of f*ck do we in the year 2015 , have an unelected group of people involved in the lawmaking process? We are meant to be a democracy, this ridiculous anachronism should be abolished asap. While it exists Prime Ministers will continue to appoint their cronies. Cameron has selected a particularly awful crop here!

Angry? (Non QPR) on 16:49 - Aug 28 with 2028 views | TacticalR | British politics is increasingly surreal. As was pointed out in yesterday's FT, the only bigger assembly in the world is the Chinese People's Congress: The new arrivals will take the upper house to about 830 members, further expanding the second-biggest legislative chamber in the world – surpassed only by the 2,987 of the National People’s Congress in China. http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/5dd28b26-4c13-11e5-9b5d-89a026fda5c9.html

We are one of just two countries in the world who have unelected clergy in government. The other is Iran. [Post edited 28 Aug 2015 19:40]

Angry? (Non QPR) on 09:45 - Aug 30 with 1278 views | TacticalR | @kensalriser 'Welcare cuts policy appears to have been reversed.' That's a good point, although it might be better to call it 'wealth redistribution'. There is a vicious section of Tory state hangers-on that is not against state expenditure as such, just against ordinary punters getting anything from the state. IDS's sanctions regime is designed to cast off such people as soon as possible. @kensalriser 'On the plus side, the future economic growth of Houses of Ill Repute in the SW1 area is now assured.' I believe that Corbyn plans to nationalise the brothels. These will come under the remit of the Ministry of Special Tastes.
