Good luck tomorrow, everyone. May you get what you want, even if it's not what you deserve (like my two).

Daughter numero uno gets her A Level results tomorrow and daughter numero two gets a Maths AS result.
I am glad the wait is over to be honest whatever the outcome. ABB required for History at Brum.
I need to find out if there is any truth in the rumours that unis can and do send out confirmation of your place via email or on "Track" in the wee small hours (which my daughter swears is the case) or only after 8am via the online system. Otherwise not one wink of sleep if going to be had in our house tonight as she will be pounding the floors all night. Can't even drug her tonight on the sly as sedatives don't affect her (the specialists have had her on most stuff over the last 3 years for migraines and other "challenges" and stuff that should knock a horse out has no effect on her)

I on the other hand will certainly being downing alcohol based liquid sedatives during the evening as I listen in to the game :-)

edit: PS Good luck to everyone!!

I got my A-Level results 2 years ago and no, it will not come out in the EARLY morning hours. Earliest it will be online is 7:30am. It is meant to come on at 8am but UCAS do release some a bit earlier. But definitely not before 7/7:30. Also if she wants a bit of comfort i was meant to get ABB to get in as well, I got ABC yet Sussex still let me in!

Good luck to anyone getting results anyway

My lad has just finished his second year of a four year Physics course at Southampton.
Tough entry criteria isn't it!

When I did mine (many years ago) I got lower results than I was predicted. Thought I was going to Strathclyde, ended up leafing through prospectuses in the job centre on my birthday. Spent all day there; by the time I got to the pub for my birthday drinks I was going somewhere I'd never been - London, Engerland, a simple 72 bus journey away from Loftus Road.

My point being that no matter what happens with your results things can work out for the best.

Physics was my worst subject at school. I can't believe anyone wants to do it, let alone that the universities wouldn't take everyone!

In old money I got a CSE (sub O Level) Grade 4 in Physics.
Chemistry the same
Never studied a day's biology in my life.

I think my daughter is now resigned to the fact that it is not worth spending the night staring at a website pressing refresh and will log on at 7.45am to see what the Bobby Moore is.

She is currently in the bath with various bubble baths and candles.

I know a few of you may remember what I have posted about her and about what she has been through with depression and anxiety for the last 4 yrs and not being in school from 14-16 and if things go well tomorrow then for her its another success story in her road to recovery.

Best of luck to everyone

Whatever her results tomorrow she must have already had many successes over the last couple of years to actually be in the position of waiting for these results. And hopefully she gets the results she needs and that she can continue on her road to recovery.

Good Luck Bosh Family!

Nephew got what he needed to get into Uni which I'm delighted about.

Has decided to go down the old fashion route of getting a job and day release to Uni in London.

Only needed BBB. ONLY, I'd have been delighted with BBB back in the day!

I hope everyone got what they needed!

Any news?
Master Sheen got A*AA (and A) but Manchester are taking him anyway.

The elder Miss Sheen needed AAB for art at Edinburgh. She got A*s in Art and Art History but C in Biology but they don't want her. She has an art school place if they won't change their mind.

Good luck to everyone waiting. They're not fighting for the last place on the lifeboat.

Well done Master Sheen, phenominal performance.

Not sure what Edinburgh are playing at, 2 A* grades in the facilitating subject she wants to study but don't offer based on a C in Biology. Smacks of being oversubscribed and being picky! I really hope it works out for her.

No such worries for my eldest as she got A* A & B in her 3 and gets her first choice of History at Birmingham starting Oct 2018.

Middle girl did really well to get a B in her Maths AS, as her previous mocks were much lower, so he really turned it around in the last 6 weeks - really pleased for her too.

Hope everyone else gets what they need or want

Fantastic, good for her. What is she going to do before she goes?

She wants to find a job so that she can effectively reintegrate herself in to normal life as she did not go to school due to severe depression and anxiety from half way through year 10 and all of year 11 and only started to go back in to school for some of her A level subjects where the class sizes were smaller over the past 2 years.

So we hope that she gets a job, fines some nice friends and socialises to makes up for missing her mid teenager years due to illness.

We are so proud of her and what she has achieved against all the odds.

** Proud Dad Alert **

Supahoopsa Junior got A* in Maths and Economics and an A in Further maths.

Unfortunately this meant that Warwick (his first choice) have declined as he needed 3 x A*, but his second choice Bristol have accepted.

He has spoken to Warwick this morning and they have said that if he can get his further maths remarked and his grade improves by 31/8, they will reconsider.

Regardless, super, super proud of him.

Congratulations and well done to all the others

How bonkers is it that you can post those fantastic grades and then have to use the word "unfortunately" because Warwick decide they wont take an A instead of an A*.

The good news is that Bristol has a fantastic reputation and is classed as one of the best unis in the country now as many of those not getting in to OxBridge have Bristol as their second choice. So If Warwick won't accept him, then his insurance place will be on a par for him as a uni.

Amazing results, he really must have worked hard and you should rightly be proud of him,

Brilliant results and worth remarking though. My son managed to get his up to an A* from an A a couple of years ago.

Great stuff on here, well done to all. My elder daughter, 6 years ago didn't get the grades she wanted for her first choice Bournemouth or her insurance, can't remember where, to study or should I say read English Language. She applied through clearing to Swansea, which had been one of her original five and they accepted her, we were told she had an excellent personal statement.

She did very well in her degree a 2.1 with a first in her dissertation which was also 'published', I think that's the term, as a reference on her subject matter.

She has now been working successfully for three years, laterally in marketing for a charity.

We had less drama with our younger who got into her first choice three years ago and has just achieved a 2.1 in Sports Science.

Miss Sheen was one mark off the B she needed in biology. She's asked for a remark, but it will take a week and she has offers from clearing who want a decision in 24 hours. Stick or twist? Silly, isn't it?

Well done to all who got the results they wanted, glad the hard work paid off

Well done all the proud dad's..........but come on chaps, what about a shout out for the proud mum's as well.

For anyone reading who didn't get the results they wanted.........for whatever reason.
It may seem like the end of the world.......but it's not.
It may not seem like it today, but you've got numerous options open to you.

Re-sit A Levels
Apply to a different Uni
Do a Part Time Degree
Do a Vocation Course
Get a job where the Employer will sponsor you for further study.
Apply for an Apprenticeship.
Study with the Open University.

Whatever you do.............
Don't give up.
Good luck to all for the future.

And remember......
The world is your Lobster.
