I’d have been quite miserable about that if I didn’t already have such a big smile on my face!

Can't really stand Rugby of any sort, but watched the closing stages as it was on the box - even I was embarrassed by that.

Can’t stand egg chasing. Especially nowadays, all kick and rush. No skill to the game. Laughed out loud when I saw the score. English rugby given the resources should dominate world rugby. Watch the Irish, a country of a tenth of the population batter England next.

England are always the toughest game for Ireland regardless of form.
Ireland never win in Paris but managed that already this year but still need to beat England to win it all .Thats assuming they beat Scotland tomorrow or today as its Sunday on LFW now.
Never loved Rugby myself but it does bring back good memories from my childhood when Tony Ward was kicking for Ireland

I disagree, I think it's far more evolved now. The trouble is England keep trying to play expansive Rugby against teams that are far more advanced like France. You have got to have a plan B. There was a prime example.of when England were yards from the French Try line with an advantage penalty and Marcus Smith throws a quick long pass out wide that was never on and France make an easy interception with barely any England player set to stop the counter attack. Awful decision when a more experienced team would have re-set and driven for the line. You'd never see the Springboks allowing France to take the p*ss like that.

Indeed Toast. Rugby is a skilled and tactically complex sport. It may not appear so because it's also highly physical but the precision needed in passing, kicking, timing runs etc. is no less than that required in football.

What would QPR give to have a winger with the speed of Penaud. Or the all round skills of Dupont.
The precision of the forwards at line outs, set scrums, rucks and mauls. If the ball is recycled quickly then the game progresses rapidly. If you play like England yesterday you'll get a hiding. Too much kicking for territory (football equivalent = turn the full backs round by kicking into channels) and far too pedestrian in build up. Like Dieng-Dunne-Dickie-Kakay-Dickie- Dieng.
