A little glimmer of hope for us this season as Sheffield Wednesday seem to be in financial ruin as well...
Scary to think that the Chairman bought this club for 35 million that had no debt, owned it's own stadium etc
Now we have no manager, no backroom staff, we are losing £10-20m a season, playing in a stadium that has had its capacity reduced, we have had points deductions, breached rules on Financial fair play many times, been placed under more transfer embargoes than we can count and all that has cost £250million+
And we're no better off in the leagues than we were when the chairman bought us.
Every time these fans forums happen it makes things worse.
The feelgood factor around the club has been destroyed in a week and now we have to once again wait weeks for a new manager, 11 new players, a whole backroom team and meanwhile the chairman's moaning that we're not selling enough season tickets
And yet demanding playoffs
Our club eh?
What a ride....
Now, can we just find another two crackpot clubs to prop us up next season?? |  |

As I said in the Les piece, while it's perfectly fair to point at Luton, Cov, Brentford etc that have gone past us during his reign and ask why can't we be like that, there are plenty of examples of Sheff Wed, Derby types who have all sorts of advantages that we don't who've crashed and burned while we've remained steady. |  | | |

As I said in the Les piece, while it's perfectly fair to point at Luton, Cov, Brentford etc that have gone past us during his reign and ask why can't we be like that, there are plenty of examples of Sheff Wed, Derby types who have all sorts of advantages that we don't who've crashed and burned while we've remained steady. |
I am starting to come to the conclusion that we are doing the same things as Derby/Wednesday but have gone for the death by 1000 cuts route rather than just jumping off the cliff as they have. |  |

Well we've certainly pushed the boat out a bit trying to get promoted in 21/22 and now we haven't we're in a very tricky situation. Not to the extent that Weds, Derby and others though. | | | |

Yes indeedio…..if I look through my old programmes I see matches against Wrexham, Swindon, Southend, Colchester, Walsall, Leyton Orient, Exeter, Gillingham and many more. |  | | |

Being the age that I am, I can’t claim to have remembered any glory days… more clubs in our pitching field have had bad days (Bury, Wigan, Reading, Derby) than good ones in terms of cup successes (Wigan again, Birmingham). Don’t know whether that should make me grateful for what we’ve got or miss something i’ll likely still be missing for the rest of my life as a fan. |  | | |

Very important point.
I would argue that how we’re failing now is less detrimental to the long term survival of the club. We know what we need to do and aren’t trying to pull any dodgy tricks anymore. Better to fail trying to do the right thing then bend the rules like some of the other clubs have.
I still think things will work out for us long term. Very optimistic about the training ground. |  | | |

Thing is, they are likely to go s**t or bust this season, so will be well above us and the points deductions will come next season.
Brum must have Bellingham cash and Wigan, Reading and Derby have gone out of our league. People say Huddersfield may be close, but they made millions from selling to Forest last summer. WBA are the interesting ones, but I just can't see them getting done this season and Harwich and Watford have another season of the big cash.
I do think that we are the most in trouble in the league, but then again I always think that...
