Overall an enjoyable game.

Scoring early probably settled us and we were on the attack for a lot of the first half. Wolves definitely showed us too much respect first half - second half they were a lot better and we got pushed further and further back and started giving away a lot of free kicks.

Great free kick from Phillips for Polter to get on the end of.

Polter was good but seemed to run out of steam after about 60 minutes. I think he was kept on because our other forward players are too small to receive the ball down when it's played high.

Luongo was like a little tiger and came away with the ball against much larger players time and again.

van La Parra had the beating of Konchesky all game.

I really, really wish we had someone who could take free kicks near the goal.

Just back too. I thought we were quite good first half, quick to the ball and took the game to them for the first 25 minutes, but let them back into the game.

We don't seem to have the confidence to really go for the 2nd goal to then settle. We seem to run out of steam far too quickly.

Polter, another excellent goal and performance but was marooned 2nd half with no one near enough to play off him.

I thought we were poor second half. Unlucky to concede the goal and felt for Smithies who had a very dodgy 10 minutes after that and then settled to produce 3 wonderful saves that kept us in it. Needs to command his area better bit his distribution is good so hope he gets a run.

Thought Ned, Hall and Perch were excellent all game. Konk tried hard and got skinned over and over again for pace which was a big concern.

Luongo worked very hard but Henry genuinely had a poor game and we just didn't produce enough playmaking through the middle today. Hoilett worked his knackers off, Fer worked harder, Phillips as ever was both sides of good and not so good. Polter again worked his knackers off again. He's really coming along the BFG.

Chery should have scored. Really should have won the 3 points. But at least he is a threat when he is on the pitch and he does have a lot of pace and guile.

Washington, he came on and ran about a lot. Will take time but suspect he will be fine.

Overall the standard of football was dreadful. Really poor but we have to surely start with 2 strikers at home to make the most of these games.

21 points now conceded from a winning position. It's a problem that simply won't go away.

Just back, via the pub. Polter looked tired because he ran his heart out. Fer was a disgrace. Philips has a very slow brain. Doesn't start running until the chance has gone. Disgraceful that these two earn more than the rest of the team put together and put in the least effort.
But, back to the match. So many positives. Well done Jimmy me boy. very attack minded team and subs.

Strong and stable my arse.

I'd like to see Luongo carry the ball forward more and play one twos, he creates when he does this.

Washington bought down a lovely ball and sent a brilliant cross into for chery who should have scored, so with all due respect didn't just run about a lot! That take down was class.

I get the feeling we need to find another young playmaker to go alongside him for when Faurlin doesn't play. Toszer isn't the answer as he is just too slow, but there must be a young Ale type player out there that we can scout in to make that midfield tick. 3 points for me were lost in the 2nd half as Henry had a poor game and Luongo got very little protection to do anything creative.

I didn't think Henry had a poor game, thought he was OK. Thought it was a bit of a tactical blunder to take him off, as he was our main tackler in midfield. We were overrun a bit after he went off, and the Chery chance aside were a bit lucky to draw in the end

Oh mate Henry was poor, really poor. I'll give credit where it's due but he was poor.

Henry was the weak link, felt sorry for luango who had to do the work of 2 midfielders today
By the 65 th minute we should have bought in faurlin for Henry , mackie for hoilett and Washington for fer
2 points stopped as wolves weren't all that

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

Couldn't go to today - nursing an ill Mme Crowe and ferrying the chicklings.

But i watched on TV. With the exception of a couple of 10 minute spells in each half, it looked on TV like a scrappy old game low on quality and thrills.

1-1 totally fair result.

We're not winning much but we're not losing either. That is not a bad foundation for a new manager. I'm optimistic for JFH and our future.

I thought we played ok especially first half. Smithies was fine, great save down on his right. Good goal kicks. I thought the defence played well although Konch struggled against the best player on the pitch Parra. Perch had a good game.
I also thought Luongo had a good game and Henry played his usual game which at times was effective.
Fer didn't impress as per usual, and Hoilett although he's much improved this season got back to bad habits with the final ball. Phillips played to his usual inconsistent level .
Which brings me to Polter.
Great goal, works his socks off but he is terrible on the ball. His touch is awful. I hope he improves with that aspect of his game and there is no denying his effectiveness in the air in the box. Might be good to see Washington up there with him in a 442.
Chery should have buried that goal ,another opportunity missed. He needs game time.
I thought it was a shame Washington didnt come on sooner .
We should have won that game,i just thought it was the final third again letting us down again.

Our midfield for the most part were totally out muscled by a big and tough wolves team that won nearly every loose ball.

Felt substitutions were very late in coming.

Midfield was too weak. Henry was weak and poor, as is Fer who does ok one minute then totally disappears. Luongo looks the part but I couldn't help feeling he needs proper muscle around him.

BFG works very hard but cannot control the ball when played up to him. He just doesn't seem to jump and hardly makes a challenge which is odd when you look at the goals v hull and today.

Thought the game was crying out for Mackie to replace any of junior, fer or Phillips.

One thing though is they all ran their socks off and I cannot fault any of them for commitment and effort. It's just that some of them aren't up to much and offer little.

Grant halls passing was way off today.

I thought wolves were one of the better teams we've faced at home. They over powered us for long spells and smithies made some wonder saves.

Having said that cherry should have scored.

At the end I was happy we got a point out of the game.

Subs were too late, Both Fer and Hoilett should have been hooked earlier I realy dont understand how Hoilett starts games
Very pleased for Smithies that he pulled of a number of saves including that 3 in the space of a minute will do wonders for his confidence and status in the team

I thought Dominic Iorfa looked very good for a man of his age

Mackie might struggle to get a game between Polter's burgeoning form and Jimmy wanting to try out his new toy boy. I hope Jamie can be worked in there somehow because the bloke has a heart as big as a house and will be busting a gut for some game time.

Smiths did fine apart from one indecisive moment where it could be argued that Onouha should have taken command. A couple of great saves, good distribution and communication; much better than Green.
Perch did alright, but a couple of dodgy moments including ducking out of the way of the ball in our penalty area.
Konchesky was an embarrassment today, truly awful display. Constantly roasted, poor distribution; how the he'll is Yun not playing?

Henry was a little off it today, but when he was hooked surely Sandro was the right replacement? A midfield of Luongo, Fer and Chery is just terrifying.

Poltergeist super first half, but ran out of steam.

Overall, draw was fair - we should have been at least two up at HT, but they bossed the second half.

Still concerned about the lack of urgency in the team though - every goal kick and drop kick from Smith is, ball our lot are just walking away, not even looking back or thinking where to go -why????

Can we go out yet?

Thought a draw was a fair result, they didnt offer any threat in the second half but came on strong in the second. best for me were Perch and Polter. Konch, henry, hoillett, phillips not so good. nice play by Washington to set up Chery on a plate but when your luck is out its out.

One thing i would love to know is why we proceeded to lump balls to fer who was up against a 6ft 2 Iorfa? Phillips had the beating of his man the few times we switched it that side. Worried me a little that JFH didnt address this and also Konch getting skinned. Van Le Parra a very classy player indeed.

The poor marking, tracking back and closing down in the second half was unacceptable and a better team than Wolves would've thrashed us. Those are basic requirements for any footballer and so I do not blame JFH for those failings. There was a lot of ambling back by Fer, Phillips and Luongo.Junior looked like he was towing a fridge in the second half. Smithies and the defence kept us in it and we got a point we didn't deserve.

We deserved at least a point. Unlucky not to be 2-0 at half-time, they got a freak goal and we missed a sitter near the end. Just because they were the better side in the second half, doesn't mean they deserved to win.

We stopped pressing!

Their goal was an unlucky one to concede with a double deflection and at a bad time. It seemed to knock us out of our stride and make then believe in whatever Jacket had said to them at half time.

We then appeared to retreat into our shell and drop further back instead of pressing. In fact when I think about it we did press the attacker when he scored either!

Wolves finished stronger and we were, Chery's chance apart,, fortunate to save a point.

scored early, missed chances for the 2nd and that gave wolves hope....cmon, 2 deflections on their goal gave smithies no chance, a lucky lucky goal
hoilet doesnt do enough but is improving
phillips is a lightweight, won't go 100% into a tackle or header, "bottle job" was a word we used as kids
our back 4 never looks settled and we must get a right back asap
henry looks lost/disinterested
another 2 pts lost at home.....the curse of sky and all that

Yeah, enough said about Fer but quite why the blue eyed boy of this forum, Luongo, gets off so lightly is a bit of a mystery although I'm probably answering my own question.

I can see his appeal, quite useful when time on the ball, but try watching him when he doesn't have it, his 2nd half was atrocious. For a period, every time Wolves moved through the middle he retreated into the back line, no challenges, left the much maligned Henry stranded. Time after time, he seemed to position himself with a Wolves player between him and a pass, you got the impression he was overwhelmed for long periods.

We totally lost centre midfield for most of 2nd period and much down to his performance.

Had difficulty tracking back in the second half. Don't know if it's fitness or as you say it got a bit much for him. They were walking through at will. For their goal Henry was shouting at him to be closer to his man.
