Anyone have any experience with these?

Following a recent motorbike accident I was prescribed. Zopiclone 3.5mg,which is giving me a max of 2 - 3 hours kip / night.

Calling doc tomorrow to review, anyone in here had similar problems?

Melatonin does the trick for me. Trouble is that it is not OTC here and so requires a prescription. It is also quite expensive, which is rather ridiculous as it is quite cheap and easily accessible in the US or Asia. 5mg is what we use.

Piriton has natural sedative affects and does not have addictive properties compared to sleeping tablets. Is good to speak to a doctor. I am a very light sleeper but will use Piriton every so often to regulate my sleep.

2 tsps apple cider vinegar, 1tsp honey and a cup of hot water. Always works for me.

Welcome back, Pricey. Hope you are on the mend and soon getting some shut eye time. Another poster mentioned you had been in an accident.

Sadly, I can offer no advice on the tablets side - so in that respect I've been no help at all.

Not sure about the he pain aspect but I use zolpiderm 10mg (think it is) on night flights - believe it's the generic form of Ambien. Works well and, to my fairly addictive personality, doesn't seem particularly addictive. Tricky part is obviously getting it prescribed here. The ones I still have were prescribed by a US doctor. Melatonin is pretty good at getting you to sleep and then getting you back to sleep but doesn't always work for me. Worth a try if you can't get anything else. Biggest thing to consider us obviously how addictive they are, especially as far as pain medicine is concerned.

Either of diazepam and temazepam do the trick for me, and have never noticed either causing mental aberration.

But you'll probably have trouble getting a doctor to prescribe anything for daily use.

Try phernergen. It's an over the counter antihystemeine (sp) that has a handy side effect of knocking you out a little. Doctor recommended it for an ex and now loads of my friends are fans. They market it for sleep issues now because it's pretty effective

Valium is fantastic but hard to get and a bit addictive.

Phernergen was what our chemist advised for my son who really does not enjoy flying - I tried it a couple of times when I was having a job staying asleep and it worked. The only trouble with it for me was that it took me an age to get out of the fug the next day and simple decisions would take ages. Worked for my son though.

Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

Hope you have a swift recovery.

I've never taken sleeping pills but with the recent humidity I found 10 or so bottles of Brand IPA 7% £1.29 a bottle on beerwulf really helped me sleep

Likewise I don't usually need sleeping tablets but arrived in to LA on Monday for work and by yesterday I hit the wall through lake of decent sleep.

I tried a 4 pack of Krone 1664 x 500ml but it only gave me 2 extra hours and now a banging head this morning - so will have to go in search of some other tablets now.

I used Zolpiderm a few years ago. It would zonk me out but only for a couple of hours or so.

However, my flat made when she borrowed them would hallucinate like she was on an LSD trip. I had to stop the prescription as she would sneak into my bedroom looking for them for them and take two or three at a time.

amitriptyline did the trick for me when I herniated a disk in my neck and could sleep. In high doses they're an ante depressant, but in low doses they are an effective muscle relaxant, and really helped me.

However they are really horrible things, that have other side effects like weight gain and general lethargy.
