I’ve been a staunch defender of the GA appointment but for whatever reason and I’m sure there are lots of them,it just hasn’t happened for him at his beloved QPR. I’m afraid we are going down into L1 next season.
Even up until Saturday I was sure we would get a win or two. However the players for whatever reason have decided to down tools for the best part of 2023. Is that all down to GA obviously not however he really has not helped himself in the last three weeks with the shocking results at Blackpool and then Wigan.
I’m not sure what the future holds for him when we go down, will the club stick until October to see where he can take us. However with Lg1 becoming a mini championship over the last 5/10 years I fear it will be a long time before QPR will regain Championship status. I would like to see him given the chance but I’m not sure he will.

All the manager’s on here will no doubt slate his style as not being in the QPR way to which I’m perplexed as to what that actually is. QPR are hardly the Barca of English football. But for whatever reason his tenure thus far has been a shitshow. I hope so badly that I’m wrong and we can somehow miraculously avoid relegation.

The "QPR way" is an arrogant phrase, but this style of football under Ainsworth (let's not kid ourselves into thinking he is suddenly going to change after playing hoofball his entire managerial career) is entirely counterproductive for QPR.
It is not a style that will get results in this league, certainly not in the long-term. It will not help develop players (anyone want to think how Chair, Willock etc. will develop under this style??), it will not get more fans through the gates, it will not encourage the sort of players we need (with development potential) to come to the club, and it will send us backwards. Before anyone mentions Eze, I'm sure with his talent he was going to succeed at that level (L1) at whatever club, I don't believe we can credit Ainsworth and his footballing style for that!
Love Ainsworth as we all do, but this appointment was stupid from the start, and will not end well for him or for us.

Terrible appointment. A player we all look back on fondly, very likeable guy, coming into our mess of a club and with the type of players we have, it just wasn't going to ever work.
The way he's now selling himself as the one to rebuild if/when we drop to League 1 is a far cry from when he arrived and the priority of not going down, then he can plan etc. He must realise his job is on the line and he's now pitching the role of 're-builder' from a league he knows well.
Thing are a mess and change needs to happen but I will maintain that when GA took over, he should have been able to keep this team in the league from the position we were in. We've even seen points deducted from our rivals and those around us have performed poorly. I think Critchley would have done a better job to GA had we kept him as at least he picked up a few draws which could make all the difference.

I still think ultimately the players have to take a huge share of the flack for this absolute mess along with the DOF and owners .
But I wonder if I have been burying me head in the sand slightly regarding GA probably just because I want him to succeed so much. But il’ll admit to being jolted by listening to the west London sport pod with Kevin this morning. They weren’t having GA at all I couldn’t disagree with almost anything they said regarding his set up, tactics and management.
Ultimately these players have caved in and I don’t think I can forgive a lot of them but GA hasn’t helped himself at all . He’s asked the squad to try to play to his strengths instead of adapting to theirs and that is only going to end in one outcome.
I wasn’t totally unhappy with the appointment without jumping for joy because I thought he’d get them going and fire a rocket up some them but it’s a clueless appointment that’s chucked the last 4 years in the bin.

It's looking like the board's worst appointment yet. Why hire Critchley then abandon him for a completely different type of manager a couple of months later? No doubt the brains trust reasoned that with 'winnable' games against Birmingham, Blackpool, Rotherham and Wigan coming up, we'd stay up and they'd be hailed as heroes (or at least be able to carry on grifting for another season). WLS has gone in two-footed on him.

The team has a number of weaknesses and isn't particularly good, but trying to go direct (Martin/Dykes), getting overrun in midfield (4-4-2 against teams with 5 in midfield) and not utilising your best attacking weapons (Chair and possibly the overloads from your full-backs Paal and Laird) isn't going to help. Should say injuries have been a factor with selection but even now, with players back, seems to be sticking to his preferred methods.

That WLS pod is a really good and clear-sighted appraisal of the last few games and what's coming. Recommended for all on this Ainsworth moment in particular. Must have been really hard for Kevin to say all that because of their history - but he nails it. The way he was describing setting up the team, the mentality he'd hope for...I was actually thinking I'd rather have Kevin Gallen in charge. Which is saying something as he's not a coach! But he's read the squad and situation much better than Ainsworth.

Yes we have to consider the injuries as they have been horrendous (the ones that were real) but you can’t say the cavalry is coming …and then leave it on the bench!
After we went 2-0 down at WBA the camera panned to GA and you could clearly see him saying and repeating “play football”. I thought it was odd to what we were seeing but even more strange , they started to play . So Saturday shocked me as there was no sign at all apart from a nice little move after about 2 mins of the match . Got to go with the best players tonight . The ones that have the quality in them to string passes together and create something because if we don’t create chances we’re dead .

Yes I have to admit it opened my eyes gif some reason. Been so angry with the players that I was largely ignoring what GA was doing . It was forth right had damning to be honest .
