The key to the win was staying tight at the back which thanks to Yoshida was almost achieved, just the small blip when Clyne and Puncheon had a "no after you sir" moment and the later scuffed the ball to Ireland, unfortunately Fox was thinking about "shall I have tea, coffee or take a dump at half time" and Bent left him for dead. The Midfield looked superb with Ramirez running the show, he really is the real deal. The second half Clyne was a revelation playing further forward on the left and Schniders sweeping in front of a back 3 at times. Great day at SMS, excellent team performance, especially the second half. My MOM Yoshida just gets it from Ramirez

Does anyone know why MH keeps leaving Adel Taarabt out of the team - have they had a falling out or are there just too many midfielders to choose from?

Another gutsy performance from the R's. However the honeymoon is over. We need points on the board and fast.

We were a joy to watch and played as well as I have seen for many years. We were the better team but yet again no points. Spurs were good for 5 mins only but thats all they needed for their 2 goals.

No good saying we played well, if we get nothing from the game.

Very disappointed with the result and Hughes will now be under pressure to deliver a series of wins and quickly. The Chairman and the fans have waited long enough.

The match by match improvement continues. A step-up , in my opinion, from last week's performance v Chelsea and really disappointed to get nothing from the game. Midfield once again superb, constantly winning back the ball and rarely giving it away. i guess we lacked a little bit of a cutting edge in attack. For a man coming back after so long out, I would give man of the match to Kieron Dyer

I agree with QPRNZ. Finally we have a midfield, great passing and more importantly all tackling and winning the ball back on occasions. Can't leave all the defending for the last 4. Shame that our forwards aren't getting shots off, and that showed yesterday when Hoilett had a lifetime to get a shot off and then Vertonghen making a superb tackle. Man of the match for me has to be Clint Hill, he made more saves than Cesar! Faurlin would have got man of the match but even though own goals tend to be unfortunate he turned his back to the ball and could have possibly been avoided. They all played brilliantly, shame we got nothing from it. What's happened to Cisse? he was scoring almost a goal a game and now he is a sub. Zamora is great but has no pace, more of a holding player or great player to give assists.

For most of the game Spurs only threatened from set pieces, and scored their winner from a quick break as we pressed (yet again). I don't think they had the skill to play through us.

A draw would have been fair on balance of play (and stats), but an R's win would not have flattered us.

As others have said, this was an improvement on the Chelsea game (where we were pretty good). We are defnitely the best team in the division not to have won a game. Apart from "Narch", every team we have played this season is currently in the top half of the table, and most of those games have been away.

However, as someone else said, we need a win, if only to shut up the numpties baying for Hughes' head.

Gazza 6 two good saves 2 fumbles kicking one of his strengths

Yoshida 7 beaten a few times in the air think he will be better in the Prem than the CC/League 1 would get battered

Jos 7 A few strong challenges.

Richardson 6 a few good runs but poor crossing let him down

Seaborne 6 Poor distribution but battled well considering not played much

JWP 6 Did ok not as good as other games this season

Cork 7 good to see him back , busy, controlled middle with JWP and Chaplow but too many training game passes.

Chaplow 7 busy, good tackling some wasteful passing

Guly 6 Good and bad as usual - missed a good chance

SDR 5 What an enigma...some great wing play followed by nothing - not one piece of end product.

Rodriguez 7.5 Great goal, missed good chance made by his piece of skill, SRL in waiting. No need to rush yet.

Very poor result, particularly for Mark Hughes. Let's hope Faurlin is OK.
