Trent Sainsbury

He is far from bang average, very comfortable on the ball and can time a tackle.
I think he would be a very decent signing and given the current status of the club, a perfect investment.

Sexual abuse in football
at 15:47 6 Dec 2016

I played under both bob Higgins and Chris gieler.
I found gieler a very strange person and the way he spoke about certain players used to raise a few eyebrows amongst the group we were in.
Other than the inheritance thing, Thankfully I never witnessed or heard some of the things in that interview.

Everton 83-84 and 84 -85
at 22:55 4 Sep 2015

I was mascot at Goodison in May 84, think we got beat 3-1.

I remember walking off the pitch and the Rs fans singing 'our mascot is better then you're one'

I had to walk out with the referee which not only annoyed me but also captain , i think, Terry Fenwick who started arguing with him saying i was their mascot not his.

Got to keep the 50p they used for the toss though so not all bad

This will make you cry..

Thanks for that, great to watch and great memories.
Players who were not motivated by money and had pride in the shirt.

Makes you wonder if they showed that as a motivational video how the modern day international footballer would react and whether they would appreciate the impact their effort/performance has on the nation at home.

Bet most would lose interest and be on Twitter within 10min.

An all-action Joey Barton
at 15:43 13 Apr 2015

It is good to see players, inc Barton, giving 100% and showing a bit of passion at last.
But putting my Coaches hat on, I think Barton is a liability with the fact that he feels the need to dart about everywhere looking to win the ball in areas he doesnt need to be in.
He then finds himself out of position and unable to recover quick enough

A classic case of this was the goal on Sunday, his starting position for Greens 'kick' was near Fabregas. Barton then darted all the way to the right back to try and win ball/support the full back when he shouldnt be there.

The result, an unmarked Fabregas strolling through the pitch.

I think we can all agree
at 15:17 14 Mar 2015

I think CR looked out of his depth today, there's been plenty of good coaches try managing and it just hasnt worked them.

Took too long to make changes, made poor decisions from the start with selections and the tactics of lump it to Austin made it look like men v boys. Which is sad when you think of the players have Palace have compared to your average Prem side.

That being said I don't think there was much choice when he was appointed.
As we all know Redknapps shouldn't have started the season.

A picture that sums up SWP and QPR since 2011

Agree he shouldn't be on the pitch from the start, but in terms of a throw as long as part of both feet are touching the line then it isn't a fail.

What part sums it up? The fact that we have SWP taking a throw or the belief that it is fail throw?

Whilst it may looked unusual that wasnt a fail throw.

Quick QPR Quiz Question

Don't think Seaman played more the 70 odd.

IMO Wilkins should have played more. Despite his age, when he was with us he was best centre mid in country and you had the likes of Barry Venison and Kevin Richardson getting caps

If your looking at most capped players that have played for us that won them throughout their careers then Kenny Sansom must be up there.

Can only hope that the leisure wear stuff is better.

Wonder if they'll have the audacity to charge over the odds for the shorts and socks when you could pick them up without a badge cheap in Sports Direct.

Podcast Help
at 06:45 16 Mar 2014

Never listened to a podcast before and I've got a bloody long drive coming up with no radio coverage so thought I'd get stuck into some open all Rs podcasts.

Gone to download them all and I get an E within a red box next to some and can't download them .

Anyone know what this is and throw light on the situation.

Any other decent podcasts out there that might be any good?
Cheers

Perth,Australia-pubs showing QPR games
at 23:05 12 Dec 2013

The casino is a good bet for most games as they have a big sports bar with dozens of screens.

Another place that usually shows football is the elephant and wheelbarrow in Northbridge.

I'll be at the WACA on Sunday, fingers crossed it isnt over by then.

The ACL Solution
at 12:30 3 Dec 2013

Good luck with the recovery.
One piece of advice i would give is get good Physio.
I was back fit within 6 mth largely down to the Physio work on the core muscles around the knee.

Funny you say that about the studs.

I swore for years that blades were a problem as 3 mates had serious injuries turning in them (2 ACL and a spiral fracture) just after they came out about 18 years ago.

Low and behold I wear Copa's, 15 years later get my foot stuck in the ground, turn and tear my knee to shreds.

I think the pitches have something to do with it, they are much better now are days ie firmer with grass longer.

The ACL Solution

Interesting stuff that.

It all depends how lucky you are with other damage.
I know people who have had no problems returning to playing with no future affects.

Speaking from my experience, it's not just the ACL injury that causes the problem, it's the impact elsewhere on the knee such as the meniscus and medial ligaments,
In my case the meniscus was torn to shreds and has needed more surgery after only 18mth back playing. The more damage to that means more impact on the bones which means more injuries.
Amazing to think that much damage caused by simply turning!

INJURY WOE FOR SUTHERLAND
at 20:19 11 Nov 2013

I'm with you on that one Hunter.
I ripped my knee to shreds while wearing Copa Mundials and nobody was near me.
Purely turned to chase a misplaced pass to me and the studs got caught in the grass.

Whilst it is a terrible injury, it isn't as bad as it used to be and baring in mind the treatment he'll get, I'm sure he'll come back as strong.

Good luck to him.
