Left back v Brum 15:51 - Dec 7 with 2616 viewsdmm

If Norrington Davies can't play on Tuesday (as per WLS as few days ago) and Field is out until Saturday at the earliest, who's the LB v Brum?

JCS has played LB but he himself may well be rested. Mbengue was tried there earlier in the season, but not to great effect. So it may have to be Esquerdinha, although he hasn't been in contention lately.

It wouldn't surprise me to see him try Kieron Morgan at left back.

Was just going to post that idea , I think he would be ok .

Yep, Morgan might work. It's a shame Vale is still injured as he's played there.

Whoever it is, I'd like to see Smyth start on the left as he'd be a great help to the LB when defending.

I’d be more worried about right back up against Demerai Gray

Can you imagine Michi on the overlap…?

He’d have to make it once per half to give him time to get back in position

Problem you got is JCS has played his 70 minutes for this fortnightly period so he is certainly unlikely to play Tuesday . Maybe they would rather he played Tuesday than do all the travelling to Middlesbrough.
Ideally right now he would play , maybe even at left back and Morrison or Cook comes in .

Bit of a ridiculous situation we are in at left back though

Didn’t Saito play there once or twice last season? Did alright I think although if Chair is out he might be needed elsewhere.

The thing is isn’t whoever plays there likely to be facing up to our old mate Bright OS?

Osayi-Samuel plays RB now. He's not always a starter there for Brum.

They will risk RND for that game and a few more, and hope they can sneak into Jan to fix it then. Stupid, we are in this situation. This should have been fixed ages ago.

JCS can be rested with Cook coming in for him. Also, if RND breaks down, JCS can play the odd game there, and I bet they are looking at Morrison to play there, too.

Esq plays there, then it's simple, he has to be told never to go forward, as it's forward runs that catch him out.

zzzzzzzzzz

Surely RND is ok to play?
He had a week off before the West Brom game.

Agree. Got to look at where we can maximise points, Boro away maybe not.

If RND can't play, then Esquerdinha. He isn't going to improve by not playing.

Esquerdinha was away from the club for family reasons according to WLS so I assume he's back?

Am I missing something? Since when is Morgan a left back?

Most players do improve by not playing according to this messageboard.

Honestly this notion that we have to wrap a loan LB in cotton wool is just plain bananas. Just play the lad.

Adamson is a full back on the right.

Failing that Ashley Cole perhaps !!

The only way I can envisage a galloping Frey bossing it from left back, is if we put a motobility scooter under him. Just check ULEZ/congestion charges to avoid any points deduction issues.
