Indeed Bazz. I'd much prefer that we continue to try and build a squad over the next few seasons, not only to gain promotion but as a foundation for surviving in the PL. I don't think we would survive, but it would be good to at least give a good account of ourselves.

Absolutely this. We seem to be going about things the right way, buying with an eye for development and future sales, and incrementally making the squad better each year.
We can't go and spend a shedload, not get promoted, and then be back to trawling the bottom of the barrel for free transfers etc.

Personally at long--long last we've pretty much arrived at a good place, I'd be more than happy to ''bob'' around mid table In the Championship winning some losing some, the thought of promotion fills me with dread, I hate that League passionately and everything It brings, can you Imagine watching and listening to that spitting pig Jamie Carragher every other Five minutes telling us where QPR are going wrong and who we should buy to stay In the Prem?

My opinion Is be thankful for what we've got and where we've go too (and I am).

I think we should continue along the path of making some sales, reinvesting and securing the club's future. I'm not sure the current squad, even with some work, would last long in the PL. I think instead, we should grow and develop some of these players.
On recent form, I hope the club have contingency plans for players like Madsen, Kone, Burrell and Dunne, because I would be surprised if we don't have some teams sniffing in January. | | | |

They old adage is only gamble with what you can afford. The owners would be gambling with the club itself and that is simply not worth the price.
Slow, steady growth needed like Coventry and it'll either happen naturally without breaking the bank or it won't.
We do have some budget in the coffers from Eze and still could do with a 'keeper, a RB and a dynamic central midfielder, but they can all wait until the summer as far as I can see... |  |

Be surprised if they don't go back for Edwards in January, hardly any game time for Southampton so I suspect his value has dipped. Under no circumstances should we gamble. We will need to sell in the summer but it should rinse and repeat until we are ready to go up. If we somehow managed to go up this year I suspect it could be bleak in EPL with current squad and owners have form in spending money on high profile signings. Sunderland seem to have done it well so some lessons here but would prefer to stay in EFL for a while longer. | | | |

We’re not going to trouble the automatic spots, but I’d like to see this squad have a crack at the line above seventh place. I think they might be capable of surprising themselves.
We’ve got to stop thinking about creating a good enough squad to get us promoted and then survive in the Premier, it’s just not working like that any more.
What to do in January, we’ll not a lot if we’re aiming for the play offs. Keep RND, maybe Edwards if he’s less than the £3m they paid for him but if JCS can keep himself fit, not even sure that’s necessary. Personally, I’d like us to cosy up to Chelsea, remind Sterling where it all started and appeal to their better nature that a short term cheap loan would be the best for all concerned until the summer. That would be exciting and the kind of lift that shows QPR do have aspirations. |  | | |

What I was trying to say is, if our Mr Stats weighed up the costs of getting some players in , that could get / keep us in the playoff area and then let’s face it, it’s a lottery. With the costs measured against what we have gotten in from Eze if we failed in our attempt and what we could potentially get in for someone like Burrell at the end of the Season IF he keeps banging them in and someone Will if he does,why not do it now, if the money we’d get even if went up and straight down,would dwarf these numbers and put us in a healthy financial position for a more sustainable attempt the Season after ?

I’d settle for a decent left back that’s actually on our books and a first choice keeper at this stage.
RND has been great so far but he’s probably quite expensive to maintain, so having one of our own might offset the cost of a better keeper and also add to the asset base. RND may also be recalled if such a clause exists, so it would be good to plan ahead.
I can live with Nardi’s issues as he keeps us in games at times, but if you want to push on then you need more consistency all round. I don’t think we can go back to Walsh and Hamer is OK as a reserve - for now - but I wouldn’t want him starting many more games. |  |

No way.
We need a keeper, but could probably struggle through with the 3 we have until the summer.
I wouldn't even go for Ronnie Edwards. We have Dunner, Cook, JCS and Morrison at the club already. Why are we spending a chunk on Edwards when we can likely get him in the summer for cheaper when Cook goes.
If a right back or left back option is available and fits the model we should do it. Also desperatly need someone who can play CM or else we will run Varane and Madsen into the ground |  |

Some talk on his thread about a keeper, but can't see it happening.
Nardi, Walsh and Hamer (assuming we keep him until the end of the season) will fight it out for the No1 spot.
Next season I think Murphy Cooper will return and possibly be No1, fighting it out with Walsh possibly, assuming we release Hamer and Nardi. Salamon will then go out on loan like Murphy Cooper has and then hopefully is ready for first team in a season or two. | |
