If we can keep RND for the rest of the season I don’t think we need to sign anyone.
Southampton would surely want at least their money back on Edwards which would be over £3m: with the cover we have at CB then he seems unnecessary at this stage.

Depends on injuries. If we get a few and look light, then I would say we could dip in the loan market.
Otherwise no. We have a great team spirit and ethic at the moment with players who want to be here.

Smells like a trout farm in here

Some talk on his thread about a keeper, but can't see it happening.

Nardi, Walsh and Hamer (assuming we keep him until the end of the season) will fight it out for the No1 spot.

Next season I think Murphy Cooper will return and possibly be No1, fighting it out with Walsh possibly, assuming we release Hamer and Nardi. Salamon will then go out on loan like Murphy Cooper has and then hopefully is ready for first team in a season or two.

Well by many accounts they were looking to move Nardi on. They tried Walsh at No. 1 instead, but he's injured now regardless of how well he did or didn't do.

Hamer is an obvious stopgap but has been fine I think, though he's back to being a sub for now.

I just don't think they have full faith in any of them and would be looking at their options in January.

Fair enough. Glad he's well now.

I love the romance of Sterling, but we have Chair, Saito, Poku, Dembele, Smyth who all play on the wing. Plus Vale and Kolli who can also play out there.
Would just be chucking money away

Although I think putting minutes into other club's players is madness, the one cheap improvement we could do is a get new keeper on loan.

The market is flooded.

Undecided. And concerned.

We're throwing out new contracts like confetti, we may be loading them to get around P&S, we may have spent a chunk of the Eze money, and we may have mortgaged the future - at least to some degree.

So I'm not sure if I'd be entirely comfortable with more spend.

On the plus side, we may get more money in from selling players from the previous regime. Or maybe even players bought by this one. We are getting some nice money in now.

We’ve only just got over a couple of seasons where we were VERY close to going down.
A cheeky flirt with the play offs but just falling short would be great this season, but that’ll do for now. Fck going up. It’ll be horrible.
Consolidate over the next 2-3 seasons. Be prepared to lose a couple of players in that time - this is why we bought them young & cheap - but build it slowly.

But sign Ronnie Edwards, natch 😉

I need a SAGA. What’s the SAGA? It’s ….. Queen’s Park Rangers.

I think we should sign Ronnie Edwards, as am sure his value will soar with regular game time.

Yes, we need a better keeper, but only if, we get rid of one or two others. Going back to Dieng for me seems unlikely.

I think, even if we are paying a minimal amount for Raheem Sterling, it goes against our model, and even if it didn't, I personally would not wish us to promote Raheem above players who are improving and gaining great experiences.

Full backs, if this was a summer window would happen, but hope we sign RND permanently in the summer.

But can only realistically see one or two additions at most....

I think its worth a punt by the owners. The BIG difference with this squad is we have some players who we could sell for a decent fee in the summer if we fall short.

Let's face it, the lack of genuine full-backs we have is a disgrace - how did we get here?? Just to be a credible XI next season we ought to be getting some FBs in January. Doing absolutely nothing would be a dereliction of duty.

Do NOT change the model. No stupid expensive loans (e.g. Stirling). Maybe if there are players who we can biy low to sellmhigh then Im ok withbthat (Edwards at £2m probably isnt going to happen). But the only really weak areas are LB and GK for me.

Why stop now, just when I'm hating it

Nah. We've gone big before and, let's face it, that went about as well as a handjob off Freddie Krueger.

If we build steadily, we stand a better chance of creating a long term benefit, rather than attracting a shower of mercenary shysters who'll saddle us with an enormous wage bill that we have no chance of maintaining outside the Premiership. We can't keep repeating our mistakes. I prefer our current approach.

It would have to be on a one in, one out basis. We do have keeper and full back issues that need to be resolved, but that's for the summer. January is the season for overpriced panic buys, often of players whose contracts are near expiry. Better to be the selling club in that scenario.

Throwing resources at a play off push is also high risk - even if you make it your chances are still only one in four.

We've pulled out all the stops before with disastrous consequences.

Basically fck that.

Personally at long--long last we've pretty much arrived at a good place, I'd be more than happy to ''bob'' around mid table In the Championship winning some losing some, the thought of promotion fills me with dread, I hate that League passionately and everything It brings, can you Imagine watching and listening to that spitting pig Jamie Carragher every other Five minutes telling us where QPR are going wrong and who we should buy to stay In the Prem?
No thanks.

I know nothing about the clubs finances and I don't want to know either, I leave that to others.

My opinion Is be thankful for what we've got and where we've go too (and I am).

Leave things the way they are, we look good, we are good, lets roll with It, I'm not being negative just being mindfully careful.

Tuesday night was ridiculously bliss and long overdue.

This. Absolutely.

In my dreams I'd love my club to win this division then decline promotion. It won't happen of course but it'd be effing hilarious if it did.

We just cannot afford to take a big risk. I don't see any way we can finish top 2., this year. Top 6 is far from guaranteed. Even if we got to the playoffs, its a lottery.

Given our budget, we need to be patient, relying on incremental improvements. So far this season that's exactly what we've had. As above, finish 3rd-6th, you gamble. Finish 7th -12th, which is what I'd expect, does it make any difference?

Got to look at the bus stop down the road - they must have been in the Championship for 5/6 years and kept their nerve with their strategy, they didn’t go wild at the first sign of top six and blow all their cash.

It meant a lot of moaning from their fans at the time (a lot of my old mates, not the wax jacket Chiswick and Richmond Dads that head there now) but it paid off as they went up with a battle hardened team they’d built over five years and then in their first two seasons in the Prem they pretty much kept that same team and did well

No point in lucking into a promotion and then getting dicked and wasting your money (fk me we would know this more than anyone).

Take your time, enjoy it, and go up with a team that you know are good
