Our Pitch 20:41 - Dec 20 with 21601 viewsQPRsince54

Does anyone know what's happened to our pitch?? All along the Stan Bowles Stand it looked like it has been under water since the last game. It's in a terrible state. Bit of a worry that we are going into the winter with it like this.

The danger on a pitch this bad is the ball is bouncing harder and faster off the surface making control that little bit more difficult and results in unnecessary lunging to recover the situation.

Wasn’t a dirty game but I can’t recall so many players going down with genuine injuries, either requiring extended treatment or leaving the field.

I can understand the watering, better a quagmire than what’s going on at the moment.

Club should be on the blower to the installers and have them spend the next three weeks sorting this mess out.

thing is as the root has nylon running through it , and what ever dirt is washed away it will case u way more ankle and knee injuries as ur be turning basically with nylon wrapped around ur studs . and we funnily enough picked up two injuries of that type on sat

I'm starting to wonder if someone has sprayed weedkiller rather than Miraclegrow.
I can't understand why it has died off so quickly.

The only other reason is that it is getting relaid this summer, so thought sod spending any money on it?

It had a complete, very expensive, relay before the start of the 2023/24 season. That's why we had to move our opening game to Watford (went well). At the time they said that the new pitch they'd put in had a ten year life cycle.

They've either put something on it and it's not gone well, or it's caught some nasty disease. The real grass is dead leaving just the artificial behind.

If we're having issues with Mud, shouldn't the finger of suspicion be pointing at this character?

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

been reading up on this supposed wonder stugg of garlic on pitches , seems to be common for years but comes with huge issue of the smell , people spraying it have to be fully kitted up , masks u name it and its not done mid season , when man united used it you could smell it for miles around the ground its that bad , so either del boy has been down the ground offering some dodgy barrells of a possibly garlic like susbtance on the cheap. or as clive said somebody has dropped a major bollock and used ther wrong stuff . it a shame as i like seeing my fav players on the pitch each week , so if this is going to cause more injuries than a missing fitness coach ( allegedly) its gonna be a long second half of the season

This is like a whodunnit mystery...Hercule Poirot should be summoned to solve the case.

On Sunday, one could see how little sunlight the pitch gets at this time of year. If they ever rebuild the stadium on this site, they should consider that factor!

thats always been an issue until recent years on the ellerslie road side of the pitch , not the whole pitch including the goal area , they also have the lamps which are used for this time of year and before. the putch in recent years even down the ellerslie road side has held up pretty good , what ever has happeend now is way past low sunlight .

My train to London Bridge passed Millwall this morning at 7 30 and they had full heat lamps on the pitch - full cover at that time.

I’m not particularly one for conspiracy theories but it does seem like a cock up somewhere as it seemed to just happen overnight. One day the pitch was fine and then it’s suddenly like it’s been eaten.

Capability Brown was one of many famous people to live in Hammersmith. He lived by the riverside and there's a sculpture of him just near the Blue Boat pub.

if they have gone the garlic route it seems weird as from reading some press about other clubs who use it , and its pretty common its done pre season , and also stinks to high heaven , somebody said after the stoke game a comment was made by mark robins . about players beig told to wash off what ever was on the pitch after the game . but as usual the club have decided not to make any comment about it when its obvious to anyone whos been to a game its a serious problem

There is also a women’s game against the London Bees in April to consider as well. If we progress in the youth cup, the Premier League Cup and get past West Ham in the FA Cup and get a home draw there will be more fixtures, plus potentially a play off semi final game if we continue to do well in the league. More pressure on the pitch.

Think that's all a bit hopeful mate!

Shit but local

The one thing I don’t understand is how come Chelsea used to have a pitch which was just as bad as ours when their ground probably got more sunlight than any other ground in the country due to the stands being so far away from the pitch. Their ground is enclosed like ours now so presumably getting a lot less sunlight, yet their pitch is perfect.

If the weather forecast proves accurate for Thursday and Friday it'll be interesting to see what's left of it come early next week. Good job our next three are away!

I think we have messed up with the undersoil heating (wrong temperature or left on for too long) and it has killed the real grass on the pitch. Probably a human error.

Still nothing from the club explaining why our pitch is so bad compared to previous seasons. It’s definitely not a Championship standard pitch.
