I am surprised to see KWP dropped to the bench as well. It is hard to imagine what he has done to deserve that but I have to hope that RH has some master tactical plan for this selection. If it works then great and I am proved wrong. | | | |

I've discussed this in previous threads. Livramento is so good that he has to start. It's just unfortunate that he plays in the same position as one of our better players. In order to fit them both in, we could perhaps play Livramento on the right wing with KWP behind him at right back. |  |

Sorry Dirk. You may well be right and that could be the logic and it sounds like you have seen them both in the pre-season - apart from a bit of one game, I haven't. I was base-ing my comment purely on KWP last season (though not saying he was perfect as there were a few times that he moved so far forward that it left us exposed) - which I know is history now.
Bottom line is, whatever I think of RH's selection, he knows alot better than I ever will and if we get something out of the game I will be delighted irrespective of who plays. Still struggle with the McCarthy selection though!

He's got very slow relexes. Any other goalkeeper would have put their arms up and made an easy save.
Also, every time Everton have a corner he's retreating farther and farther back into his goal. Soon he'll be cutting a hole in the back of the net so he can hide in the crowd. [Post edited 14 Aug 2021 16:09]
