If Smallbrain had had some arrows chalked on the pitch, to signify which direction Saints were playing, he might have actually tried to move forward with the ball. Instead he did everything possible to pass back, failed, gave the ball away which killed the game at 2-0. Typical RM impact sub.

RM can't pick a side to do us justice in the first half of matches so we're always chasing it. Unfortunately the opposition have sussed out his naive tippy-tactics and we can't even score now to catch up the deficits from the appalling first halves. Anyone who picks Manning really hasn't got a clue, therefore we will struggle to get in the play-offs which will be deserved by us. We're miles off the pace to compete at a higher level without considerable money being spent. |

First half, boring crap.
This was the match everyone has been expecting. RM's tactics have been found out. His obsession with possession has been found out as unworkable without a capable defensive back four. The opposition change their tactics to combat our bore-fest possession play and RM sticks to the same format until the loss in the bitter end.
If RM doesn't tighten the defence up and change tactics to include mixing it up then we will struggle to make the play offs. Forget the automatics after the last two games and their defensive debacles.
Oh and bin Manning for christ's sake.

Horrible to watch. Their defence was better than our attack and their attack was better than our defence. We can't pass a ball without giving an opposition break away in a crucial area and what is Manning doing with a professional footballers license? |

Another bore-fest first half. All f**t no s**t. Astounding saves from Bazuna followed by throwing the game away in stoppage time. The team can't be relied on to complete a task and this is why so many people are reserving judgement regarding our recent 'success' because we see the hook coming from a mile away. If you can't apply sustained pressure and score more than one goal per game you're going to struggle. |

1st half like watching tippy tappy paint dry. 2nd half got lucky by having one decent player who can actually kick a ball and scraped through another match. Comical defending. Manning is the worst defender I've ever seen and Adams is absolutely pointless. It's going to be a long painful season. |

This manager is still not learning that we can't sit on a one goal lead and try and defend for 60+ minutes. It's ridiculous as we were always going to get caught out especially as the defending was so criminally lackadaisical. We didn't acquit ourselves very well today and there wasn't a single player who had a good game. We need a new manager with grit who can fire a rocket up their lazy arses. |

The message from RM lately has been, I'm choosing the right starting eleven, I'm sticking to my favourite choice of tactics, but he didn't!
He picked a starting eleven which was pretty much what the fans would have done (leaving out his buddy Bernard). He had us making fast runs forward off the ball. We pinged quick incisive one-touch passes to the forward runners which proved decisive. This was all new.
He changed his tactics! We won. We looked very good for most of the match until we fell asleep for a while in the second half (old bad habits sitting on a lead). As soon as this happened RM should have let them know, in no uncertain terms, from the touch line to get on with it again
All good for a change. In future matches just leave well alone RM. |
