| Ashes thread on 14:55 - Dec 27 with 2376 views | hamptonhillhoop | My daughter is currently travelling and at the moment is living and working in Melbourne. She has no knowledge of cricket. I was telling her what a big event the Boxing Day test was and how I'd love to go. She messaged me this morning at half five saying "Guess where i am?" There she was in the MCG having been given a ticket of someone who couldn't go. My wife asked her how she liked it. Her response? "It was very slow" There's no words | | | |
| Ashes thread on 16:55 - Dec 27 with 2224 views | derbyhoop | Twice in 4 tests it's been all over in 2 days. That's not Test Cricket. Not as I've ever known.it. Cricket Australia must be gutted with huge loss of revenue. OK the 1st was England incompetence. The 2nd was largely down to the pitch. Sure, England bowled much better and then batted more sensibly to knock off a lowish target. Overall, its not good enough. | |

A miracle that he managed to score 46. Given his wicket away just before lunch. A complete and utter lack of discipline that may well change the complexion of this match.

And the management and his team mates will back him! They will say, oh he is was just trying to be positive and take the game to them. Rubbish. We could have made a lot more, Brook again missing out on a ton and helping his team, just gets himself out. Yes Carse has taken wickets but he's so expensive. And I can see why Potts wasn't being selected. Aussies could make a mammoth score now and not need to bat again. Let's see. You just get this feeling though that England shoot themselves in the foot each and every innings at some point. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
| Ashes thread on 10:39 - Jan 5 with 1185 views | ozexile | I went today and Markus came on and was bowling absolute trash. It was just a way of running the overs down before the new ball. You're on 46 and it's 5 mins before lunch. How you get out like that I have no idea. You should never play for England again. Where is the professional pride with these players? Totally unaware of the game situation. And even selfishly if you score a big hundred in Australia in an ashes test you're basically set for life. Brain dead | | | |

Yep. Should be his penultimate test innings.
| Ashes thread on 12:24 - Jan 6 with 933 views | Nov77 | Went to bed with Oz 6 down still 18 runs behind. Woke up with them only 7 down and 134 ahead. Six of our batsmen got 16 or less, none of theirs have. Our bowling attack (?) is one of the most impotent I’ve seen us send down there. | |

What's his golf handicap? Seems to be more important than cricket skills to this mob.

Urgh… on First look it didn’t look as bad as Crawleys, but on the Hawkeye, it’s bad
| Ashes thread on 05:26 - Jan 7 with 588 views | numptydumpty | Fantastic 100 from Bethell. Definitely a star is born. Ricky Ponting said its the best maiden test century he has ever seen. And then you have Harry Brook lbw to a part timer. Plays always like a t20 batsmen on heat... And Will Jacks what a f*cking idiot. Pathetic. End of his test career. Just as we were getting into the game. A couple of total tw*ts ensure we are now heading for another defeat. [Post edited 7 Jan 5:30]

| Ashes thread on 09:20 - Jan 7 with 414 views | daveB | The annoying thing again with England is another 100 on this score, which was achievable, and we have a real chance. Our bowling attack is hopeless though at the moment, basically down to 2 bowlers now | | | |

Yeah the bowling has been reduced to pie throwing, so Aussies odds on to win tomorrow. I'm sure McCullum will be delighted that there were no draws in the series - Test cricket officially saved

| Ashes thread on 16:59 - Jan 7 with 169 views | Hoopstar | With Jamie Smith in the 1st innings and Jacks in the 2nd I am amazed the commentators could refrain from swearing live on telly/the radio. Genuinely not seen a shot like Smith's even in my dazzling cricketing career in the lower echelons of the Sussex league. An innings of real poise and promise from Bethell though. Dreaming of a glorious future with him secured at 3 but he is of course only 22. If you can play like that with the limited experience he has however... Our side next summer is going to be interesting. I am still annoyed Jacks got in over Rehan Ahmed who is both younger and looks by far the better test batter and bowler from what I have seen. Potts and Carse probably need to be shown the door for a while, good news for County Durham that mind. A complete inability to find the top of off stump. Growing up watching McGrath it seemed like the easiest thing in the world. Not many coming out of this with their reputation enhanced/maintained but I'd like to see Tongue be a bigger part of the side moving forward. | | | |
