| Watford v Swansea City : Match day thread on 18:12 - Jan 31 with 2201 views | RichardO | We are getting results a lot of the time through set pieces. Job done today not too many silly slip ups in the first half and took advantage of the spaces left as the home team are obliged to pressing the second. Happy withwin. | | | |

We controlled the game very well but Vigouroux still had to pull off a couple of good saves. I'm still not convinced about Ward though.

As it stands, Ward is not the answer to our problems at RB. Nor is Key. It’s a position I’d like to see us prioritise in the market.

I would like to see Lissah brought back and providing the club think he has the potential bring him through. We have 39 points now, 11 off what is accepted as the save number of 50. It will then be a perfect opportunity to start bringing Lissah and Parker through, that is if the club think they are going to be good enough.

| Watford v Swansea City : Match day thread on 16:59 - Jan 31 by Whiterockin | The Watford commentary team attributed no blame to Cullen but were scathing of Irankunda. |
Not being part of the conversation but in the previous incident Cullen got involved then again in the incident which resulted in the red card , Cullen pushed first then went down clutching his face when he was hit in the chest , imo a poor show .

It's really not all that. Player for player I'd put our top 15-16 players against most other squads in the division. Consistency is the key. Our home form is good, but we need to pick up more points away. We probably should have done so in most away games since Matos took over. Keep the performances up and the results will come. We're eight points off the top six with sixteen games to play. No reason why we can't haul ourselves into the top ten and then see what happens.

When ever we have decisions go against us the concensus is other teams are more streetwise than us and we need wise up. By the same token we can't complain when our players do. Didn't Yalcouye go for something similar.

You know your stuff JMAB 😉 I said to my eldest and those close to me that would win it in te second half. Great minds think alike my friend 😉

Should have received a yellow card himself, I was surprised when he didn't, its not the first time he's got involved when there was no need. Poor show indeed. [Post edited 31 Jan 23:13]

He did fine for me, he's 36 so of course he's not the answer,, I don't know what you was expecting TBH?

| Watford v Swansea City : Match day thread on 23:10 - Jan 31 with 1311 views | Dr_Winston | Ward has been brought in as cover. Nothing more. It's looking increasingly likely that Galbraith will be our RB for the rest of the season so it doesn't really matter all that much how well JW plays. | |

Irankunda pushed Tymon, Cullen pushed Irankunda back, Irankunda pushed Cullen back. A bit of handbags really and the correct decision by the ref in my opinion, yellow for Cullen for the push and red for Irankunda for pushing two players and the second one far more aggressive. The melee after was not good was it KoL winding him up, the Matos yellow was undeserved as he was trying to calm people down.

My point was just that, he’s not the answer. I had no preconceived ideas as how he would play but he’s not good at getting close to the player he’s marking and a little bit panicky. This from a very established PL player. So my point stands, he’s not the answer. At least not yet. 😉

Matos received the yellow even though his intentions were good because he entered the field of play without being instructed to do so by an official .

It wasn’t very clear but the tone was a little passive-aggressive.

Well I’m not surprised after falling for a corner routine that we have been doing for the last two games, one which resulted in a goal v Birmingham. Total lack of planning.

If something works more than happy to use as needed but you would have expected the top goal scorers to be marked properly or are we being coached better for set pieces. Good whipped in corners into the front post only needs a little space in front of the defender and a minimal contact with the ball, very hard then for defenses to react quick enough.
