Just watched the Edinburgh derby and I know we all like to slag off Scottish football but it was great to watch proper tackles, shoulder charges and a Ref who was happy to let the game flow. Reminded me of watching the football I fell in love with as a lad sitting with my dad to see Match of the Day.
The game needs to get hold of itself and clamp down on all the theatrical diving which is running through our football, the slightest nudge these days and players are down as if someone has hit them with a piece of 4x2. What am I talking about it's not even the slightest nudge in some cases if they hear breathing behind them they fall over. It all slows the game and spoils it. Refs are taking more action now over diving in the box they have to continue in all areas of the pitch or would this leave us with 5 a side matches ?
