Romeu hasn't even been training with the first team!!!! 11:16 - Nov 21 with 892 viewsPatfromPoole

As per Eckert's press conference today.

His first training session with them is going to be a light one today.

WTF have they had him doing for the last two weeks???!!!???

Words fail me.

Which I know many on here will find a surprise.......

It’s all about fitness levels

He may have been keeping himself reasonably fit before he joined us, but there is a massive difference between that and match fitness

The last thing we want is to rush him in too quickly and for him to get injured

In a way, it is fascinating. Lots of permutations.

Spot on, the first team squad are at a level of fitness reached by having a full pre season, there is no point in Romeu joining them for the last few weeks, he would be way behind them in fitness levels

He essentially has to do a condensed pre season and get to their level of fitness, which it seems he is near to now, so could perhaps be ready for next week sometime, maybe even the bench tomorrow

Yes, even younger players need pre-season training after they've been away from the game for a few weeks. The first team squad's training sessions would be too hard for him right now,
