75/76 Event 20:26 - Feb 9 with 3852 viewsRsinWales

I am really looking forward to meeting the legends - Parkes, Gillard, Francis and Thomas at the club event next week. Heroes of my youth. I used to roll my socks down to feel more like Dave Thomas when I played for my school!

I see that it has now sold out. Anyone else from on here going?

If that was you that put the video footage together you did a great job.i really enjoyed that especially the stuff that hasn’t been shown before (though what happened to the 20 min highlights of Liverpool game? Hopefully we still get to see it sometime.)

Parkes was in great form, and loved seeing Dave Thomas there.

yeah that was me who put them together, hopefully they added to the evening, I thought it was a great night.

I think the Liverpool game was played as people were coming in, we were at the bar for a while so by the time i came in they were upto the Stoke game. I'll get the Liverpool game up on youtube next week, also got an extra 10 mins of highlights from Leeds at home and loads more.

here are some of the others from last night

Was a great night, feeling proud that the hard work I put in was featured on the night and got to meet some of my heroes

A superb night Dave. I thought the match footage was excellent.
Thanks to both you and Rik for your hard work in collecting and collating the clips.
Great to see a full house too

Brilliant night of reflection. Have to say the “URs” at the end bought a lump to my throat. Dave Thomas not remembering games hysterical. Well done all those involved. The quality of football on those pitches !!!

I went in as soon as they opened the doors and they were showing the Man Utd home game. But watching it all in one go on a big screen was really great, so thanks for all your efforts there, I loved every second of it.

Poll: December goal of the month - vote for your favourite R's goal during December

I had a brilliant night. Well worth the 250 m round trip on a Thursday evening.

Thanks to Dave and Ric. The footage was a joy to watch. That fluency of movement from back to front was astounding.

I got to meet Phil Parkes and Dave Thomas before I dashed off for the last train from Paddington. Both are lovely blokes, very warm and chatty. I hadn't ever realised Phil Parkes was so funny - he told some great stories.

Dave Thomas was my hero as a kid. I used to get told off by my PE teachers for refusing to wear shinpads and rolling my socks down. Hence my name on the old QPRNet site - 'Dave Thomas' Socks'.

Big shout out to the club for holding the event and the very obvious affection, honour and respect shown to the players in attendance. Proud to be there and relive some amazing times.

Credit has to go to people like Martin Percival, Paul Morrisey and Andy Sinton, i was lucky enough to be on a call with them about it all and the level of detail they go into is great and for Sinton and Paul M wanting to know so much more than the basics about what happened that season the stories etc they really wanted to make sure everyone in that squad got a mention, they just put so much love and energy into it to make sure the event was as good as it could be.

I know we all like a moan about QPR but the last 10 years they have been brilliant at bringing the clubs history to life and creating special moments for former players.
