| I’m probably gonna regret writing this when I am sober in the morning 23:53 - Feb 24 with 1952 views | A40Bosh | I was out with my former band mates of 30+ years for our annual February Christmas drinks tonight. Knew it classed with the Soton game but no harm. Heard the result at some point and when I got on the tube and went online the first thing I came upon was our young club commentator’s video from 11hrs ago about his ongoing eating disorder. My heart was broken listening to such an intelligent and articulate young man who I had wrongly assumed had his s h i t together at such a young age talking in the same way as my eldest daughter does about her self hatred of her appearance and he is in no way anyway near how bad my eldest still is about food. Yes we got spanked tonight but I would rather everyone who is a parent of young kids or maybe thinking of having kids watches and heeds this f u c k ing disaster that is happening to this younger generations and especially to young boys and men now as well as girls and if nothing else just prepares yourself and arm yourself with the tools to help the tidal way of mental health issues that is now becoming prevalent. Sorry for the rant but at least I posted this after a battering and last Saturday. Look out for everyone | |

I know a nice looking woman who has body dysmorphia, who has wasted thousands on two nose jobs that no one can see any difference. Eating disorders were more linked to women but you right, young men also have problems with such things now. The Internet, mobile phones and filters on photos have a lot to answer for and peer pressure, as always. I think, as a young guy wanted to look my best, so tried to wear decent clothes and went down the gym, exercised and played a few sports. An older middle aged man. I have a couple of extra stones, and its mainly around the midriff - wonder why !!? I can't say I like seeing my side profile reflecting back to me from shop windows, but its just part of life. But its so sad to see many people struggle with not liking themselves or their appearance. Progress doesnt extend in every area of life - not at all !!! [Post edited 25 Feb 3:05]

Forget the beer gut, at least you have your mental health. Or is Numpty a clue to something else.......?

FrancisBowles Numpty isnt a clue to something else, think we can all be Numpties at times.Twenty second decision when i signed up on here and am now forever Numpty. My own personal mental health is all good these days, but wasnt always so. Think you just tend to worry less as you get older, because you realise theres not much point in worrying. Dont change anything for the better or worse, so no point. And you gone through a few things and you realise not much point making life harder than it needs to be. Although for me, if ever a username describes anyone who chooses to support our illustrious superhoops, Numpty could be very apt..... [Post edited 25 Feb 23:03]

Hopefully time and life experiences get her to a better place in her thoughts. Very tough for you all. Puts into perspective the madness of football and its really not of any importance whatsoever in the grand scheme of things. Wishing you and your daughter well.
