…and whilst of course there is nothing we can do to change the situation, I just wonder whether another year in the Championship might not be the making of us.
I recall a couple of years back, before we did get promoted, Jurgen Klopp saying something along the lines that maybe us being promoted to the PL might not come a season too early and we would benefit from staying down for another year. And given what happened in 24/25 this might well have been the case.
I may be alone in thinking that 25/26 was us surging up the table on a bit on a wing and a prayer to get promoted so I wonder really whether ultimately we would have been up to the task of PL football had we got there.
But, given we now know we can do it, we should be one helluva lot better prepared come next May, always presuming we manage to retain a good deal of our squad and its quality… |  | | |  |

Good points well made, it seems to have made the club sit up and see that there is a lot of work to be done, they made great progress in the last 7 months of the season after dealing with the Will Still situation quickly
They also made some great signings both last summer and in the January window.
We can move forward with some confidence that if we lose some of the squad we can replace them |  |

I just hope that if the FA do try for their 5 penneth the club get their lawyers looking in to it. How can we be done twice for the same offence?

Hmm I'm firmly in the camp that you get up as soon as you can as there is no guarantee that you'll make it the following season. Every year you don't get up, it's gets harder.
I'm also not in full agreement with Nick who said we can be confident that if people leave, we can preplace them with quality.
Recruitment is very hit and miss. We have just as many bad misses as successes. SR did well in January and last summer - but they've also bought in some really poor players. |  | | |
