Played a side a bit like that in the Hayes and District Sunday League, they were a boys boxing club from the Paddington area, we beat them in the first game 2-1 with a last minute goal, the return match was a bloodbath, they won 7-0, our centre half a big but mild mannered guy was chinned in the first minute, the ref “didn’t see it”, their fans on the touch lines would punch and kick you as you ran past!
Their manager locked them in the changing room after the game so we could get out but still had to run the gauntlet of their “fans”.
I think we were only 1 of a handful of teams to beat them that season!

I was playing in a university fixture (way back when) and one of our forwards sent himself off after nutting his striking partner in the face. The ref didn't know what to do. Couldn't exactly card the bloke, he was already halfway to the changing room before he saw it.
