Rail strikes 17:51 - Mar 10 with 1580 viewsHayesender

Just had an email from Southern, telling me there is a strike by RMT members on the 18th March, Birmingham home game.

Anyone with any knowledge know if that is correct, as I thought they came to an agreement a few days ago?

The RMT came to agreement with Network Rail. Not with all of the rail companies, so Southern and others are still expecting strikes unless agreement comes this week. The fact that Network Rail have managed it should mean Southern and others will follow but they might not.

Dave

There may well be a limited service as quite a few drivers are with Aslef (Who are not striking).

When Network Rail are striking it means just that, the network so the trains cannot run on an uncontrolled network (many may say they would run better lol)

So if they have most of their drivers, conductors etc in the Aslef union you should be ok.

Southeastern are running a limited service as a result of this.

Cheers Brian.

I'll keep an eye on it, but the main concern will be getting home after the game

Not only that Dave

Best you stick to the away games. As I recall, you said you were not going today - And we won, so there is a common theme - You're banned from Home games now
