I didn't watch it, Brian. I must admit that in the past I haven't been all that convinced by Bennie. That he kept popping up in different positions didn't help. But, he's been playing striker quite a bit now and from what I've gathered, pretty successfully.

Have to say that's my instinct as well, Derby, but i haven't seen as much of him as I'd have liked to of late.
Last time I watched a game was away to Cardiff, and he played up fron in a 4231, but as a pressing forward, certainly not as a hold-up man, otr running the channels.
I think he's good at pressing, good facing the oppo goal, nice layoff and short passing, can hit from range with that right foot but I haven't seen if he can cross with the right (the left needs work anyway?) and not sure if he can dribble at pace or has the quick feet needed to be a poacher.
So, where does that put him, I wonder...

Bennie looks like he could do well at Aussie Rules for me !!!
i reckon a loan to top non league or even a league two team and see how he goes. He is rugged, energetic and sometimes decent.
Maybe Holloway at Swindon or Ainsworth at Gillungham could give him a few run outs for the second half of the season. |  |
