Tour de France: Mark Cavendish has 'urine thrown at him'

A spectator has thrown a liquid, believed to be urine, at Britain's Mark Cavendish in the Tour de France.
It happened as he was competing in stage 11, a time trial from Avranches to Mont Saint Michel on Wednesday.
The exact circumstances are unclear at this stage, except confirmation that a liquid was thrown at Cavendish.
On Tuesday the Omega Pharma-QuickStep rider, 28, was involved in a collision with Tom Veelers which sent the Dutch rider tumbling.
In response to the accusation the liquid was urine, his team-mate Jerome Pineau has said: "Yesterday I was so proud about the support but today I am ashamed. Shame on you. |  |
