The deed having been done, MB should be last in the firing line.

Evidently, but they could only make a decision based upon the circumstances, what they knew, and what they believed, at the time. They chose to leave, quite understandably.

Dave, any boy, and any parents of a boy, in that position, with their heads screwed on, choose the club they feel gives the best chance of progression to the first team. You’ll have to just trust me on that as someone who knows.

I’m not repeating any myths. I said, “IF……., but that clearly wasn’t the case.”

To be clear, as I said, Bowler “got away” (in the same way BOS and Manning “got away”). I fully accept that he had an opinion on it and was absolutely entitled to make whatever decision he wanted. But, we’re not talking a young Haaland here with his pick of any club in the world. We’re talking about a young lad with one professional appearance to his name which, incidentally, came in the last game of the season before he left (I’m guessing he saw through it). The fact is he left, having been here for a couple of years, because he felt Everton offered something better. Frankly, I don’t blame him. I blame the people who created an environment where a young lad turned his back on a club that he knew, who were making representations about pathway to the first team. I’d be surprised if he was just being stubborn, playing Russian Roulette with his career. I’m sure he had very good reason to make that decision.

I think the Willock point would be fair if we had let Bowler go with Willock in mind, but that clearly wasn’t the case.

We have to develop players and extract maximum value for them, and do it regularly. One Eze doesn’t make us a development club.

Bowler, along with Manning and BOS, got away.

Well that depends on your POV, I guess.

I think most agree that we need to develop players and get maximum value for them. I would prefer to be rejecting bids of £4m+, you’re happy with £1.5m plus saving a bit on wages. Difference of opinion

Around £500k I seem to recall (plus add-ons if he was the first man to step foot on Mars).

Should have been us fielding bids of £4m for him. Another one we can throw on the pile of players we’ve let slip through our fingers under this regime.

Dykes takes a couple of those chances, totally different game, most likely, different outcome.

All the while we are reliant on this version of Dykes we have a massive problem. He’s had enough chances, we need to cut our losses. He will drag us to relegation.

Couldn’t agree more with your last paragraph. Sadly, that doesn’t appear to be possible on here.

Well, on that basis, I apologise for the incorrect use of the term. If someone could confirm the correct term for individuals so desperate to be offended, to the point where they look to dig individual posters out for things not yet said, I will be happy to amend the post.

I’m not referring to people with a different opinion. I’m referring to people who are so desperate to be offended that, for example, within 60 minutes of the final whistle of our first win of the season, are on here goading people who have the ‘nerve’ to hold a different opinion to them, accusing them of being disappointed that they won’t be able to post their pre-prepared negative posts. I’m referring to the sort of poster who, after the comeback at Sunderland, do the exact same thing. The very definition of woke. That’s what’s tiresome.

I have the same suspicion which, if true, is damning. The club is bigger than any one personality or ego. That situation should never arise or should be professionally managed.

I have absolutely no issue whatsoever with bringing in better players, if the remit is to get the best players in by whatever means. To be clear, I want QPR to win as many games as possible, and get promoted as soon as possible, because IMO, that gives us the best chance of securing our long-term future.

But, that’s not what the club had been putting out. We had a manager who left us in a far, far better position than the one he inherited, again, IMO. That, to me, is progress. And yet, he’s no longer here, his failure to give adequate opportunity to young players strongly rumoured to have been one of the issues causing friction.

He’s replaced by someone, with an undeniably impressive coaching CV, but no management experience. But, as a club, nothing seems to be changing in terms of the development, or lack of, of our players.

This is not about MW, or MB, it’s about people at the club, seemingly, playing fast and loose, unless, of course, there was more to MW’s departure, as one or two have alluded, although without expanding.

Probably the wrong thread, the wokes will jump on it, just as they would jump on it if it was on a thread of it’s own.

Anyway, good luck to the lad. He looks very decent indeed. I hope he does well but that Ossie, somehow, keeps developing so that we’re not doing the same in a year’s time.

MB has pointed out that experience is determined by games played, not age. He’s played 50 Championship games and a handful in Scotland.

If everyone thinks he’s not good enough then fine, but that’s not the message that’s been coming out of the club. You can’t use the lack of game-time for the younger players as a stick to hit a manager with, appoint a new ‘Head Coach’, make a big song and dance about his development credentials, then do exactly what the last manager did.

The club treats supporters like idiots. We’re told we need to develop our own players, but the story changes when it suits.

I’m sure Laird will be an upgrade, but that’s not the point. Either, we’re a club that develops players, that has young players worthy of development, of we’re not. Which is it?

We need depth, agreed, but we should have signed cover/an understudy to Ossie IMO. He seems to be the best of the academy boys at this point, so if we’re sidelining him, what’s the point?

So we have a RB, that we own, who needs developing, who seems to have been doing fine. And we bring someone else’s player in on loan who’s very unlikely to be sitting on the bench.

What happened to the line about not playing our young players being a problem? Are we developing our own players or not? LB, I understand, NH is okay as cover, nothing more. OK has potential to be very decent.

Some people at the club seem to be making it up as they go along.
