Nearly 10 years and this one has aged like a particularly cheeky Bordeaux.

Show up and play like you have a pair of fùcking bòllocks and I'll forgive any Rangers team their technical faults. The manner of conceding that first goal was pub football but they didn't let their heads drop like Peterborough at home or Forest away. Much, much better.

I'd give the QPR MotM to the linesman.

It really should have been three when he managed to lose the ball as the last man by nutmegging himself. Worst centre-half performance I've seen in years and I'll include Zesh Rehman in that.

Spuds Ground
at 23:12 7 Feb 2022

As this is a spurs ground thread the last time I was there was a corporate hospitality gig for a home game with Birmingham. All picked up for by a supplier. 3 courses, free booze, very nice.

Martin Chivers was doing the compere bit, much like Andy Sinton used to I guess, walking around all the tables, asking fans what they thought the score would be. He asked me and I said I didn't really care as I was a QPR fan and just there for a jolly. He bent down very close to my ear and spoke one word, in a loving - almost tender - whisper: "cùnt" - fair play.

The Jolly Garderners on Lacy Rd is about 5mins walk around the back of the Bricklayers and worth a look if in the area. Can be a bit red-trousery when the rugger is on but that goes with the territory.

Losing Twice at the Same Ground in One Season

Agreed, an absolute bollòck-ache of a ground to get to/from and one I have absolutely zero fond memories of.

That'd be the same Chels** that gave Rix his job back the day after he was released from 6 months of a 12 month sentence for unlawful sex with a 15 year old.

I have, hardly bloody original though.

1) Pick the area you're from
2) Append "R"

Someone once thought my actual name was Grover, a name you'd only give to Americans or muppets.

Jack Dorsey really missed a trick calling it "twitter" and "tweets" instead of "wañker" and "squirts"

Epitomised by Manning for me. Superb bombing forward, poor covering back. With him and Kane doing the same thing on either side it was like playing 3-3-1-2 when we didn't have the ball.

Not really seen him play for Swansea so might have improved but I'd like to have seen that improvement with us.

Grudging admiration if he does keep them up because of the tsunami of journalstic jizz that'll inevitably follow like a biblical flood. Not his fault but it would be nice to see credit redound commensurate with what he's done, not who he is.

Delighted with our performance and that's three big points but West Brom were way below what I was expecting, injuries notwithstanding.

I'm hoping if we're in the top 6 at the end of the season they are too as there's something of the emperor's new clothes about them that makes me feel the away fixture was 3 points dropped.

Gay footballer gets abuse
at 13:16 9 Jan 2022

My kids can sing along with songs with swearing in like Magic Hat and Captain Jack but squeaking out random obscenities is embarrassing and a bit tourettey. I've never had to tell them this thankfully.

On the OP, I'm not speaking from lived experience but don't think homophobic abuse is the problem it was in the 80s and early 90s. Le Saux used to get it pretty constantly but that may have been down to being well-groomed and admitting to reading the Guardian in a time when footballers didn't openly do either.

No, Bristol is fùcked but that's because it's populated by twelve-toed cousin-fingering hillbillies.
