Really appreciate a full and honest interview. Full marks both. ("MJ really needs the money obviously" lol)

Ten things I hate about Pool – Preview
at 16:14:42

Very honest and very painful. I think a lot of us are doing some hard thinking this season (as in, 40 years plus living with that demon hope, maybe it's time to get a life....). Agree entirely the club completely misread the cup tie in a way that dissed so many loyal supporters. Not good enough.

QPR recovery grinds to a halt with Norwich defeat - Report
at 11:09:31

It was all a bit negative from McLaren, no subs until they score and can run the clock down. I fear that after our dire defensive opening to the season we may have to get used to it. McC will look at the goals against column in recent games and think that's enough. Both he and the team were scarred by the 7+3 goals and they'll probably take this. One lucky bobble or pen at the end and it would have been presented as "job done". Yet again we buy winger after winger but don't play them (or not as wingers). It's going to be a grind but as I say - get used to it! Certainly until (unless?) we're a lot safer than now. (Except in cups of course - two wingers Tuesday).

West Brom wallop seven through hapless QPR - Report
at 09:57:17

McLaren must be in even bigger trouble than I thought - unfavourably compared to Harry Redknapp! That must mean gone by Friday. He doesn't seem to understand his squad - who's the one player you'd want to stiffen the midfield and defence now? Oops, already left for Rotherham.

QPR twist again, Holloway departs - Column
at 00:10:10

If I'm honest the only reason we're having a debate is because it's Ollie. So many of us want to cut him some slack. But losing 40 games out of 80 in charge, with scattergun selections etc as Clive has said, it would be no surprise to see any manager leave. Ok there are two reasons we're debating (1) it's Ollie and (2) fear of who the board will choose instead. So ball now firmly in their court.

QPR perseverance eventually downs Bolton – Report
at 17:49:41

I know the big man has taken some stick in previous games, but I have to say Smith MOTM for me in this one - he dominated two big centre halfs all afternoon, how he didn't get at least one pen I don't know, and not his fault we persisted in pumping it long to him for an hour. Once we used the wings (hallelujah) with Freeman/Lynch up one side and Smyth/Eze up the other , he looked more effective and got his reward. Hope the lesson has sunk in with the management!

QPR downed by one of their own - Report
at 16:10:22

I think Ollie showed in his comments he still wondered whether he should have moved Cousins in and put on young Furs wide right - which sounds about right. None of the subs worked - the feeling nags away that Ollie just throws the dice when subbing. Cannot understand why we left two decent wingers on the bench throughout, while chasing an equaliser with three forwards making a very narrow forward line. Not one of Ollie's better 45 minutes, but it sounds as if he may share that view! And since we always seem to be having a running poll, I'm still glad he's with us again.

Wednesday make it five straight defeats for hapless Rangers - Report
at 17:05:36

As we could all see, a complete mess. Hands up anyone who saw anything but another home struggle, as soon as they saw the team/formation. Surely if you only have one fit centre half you have to at at least keep the defence simple, not play several players out of position? (Bidwell in particular getting dog's abuse but landed right in it by the boss, in my view.) And don't you play big Matt Smith from the start, worth his weight in defence as an extra man at dead balls, surely? Worrying rather than just disappointing.

QPR upwardly mobile after joyful Barnsley show - Report
at 21:27:43

At risk of being called a Blue Meanie (hey, come on, 1967 is all the rage, right?) we really should have had the game dead and buried before they scored. But it was a wonderful game with both teams committed to all out attack. Funny what can happen when there's nothing riding on it....
Scylla's best game surely? He terrorised a much bigger (possibly hairy a***d) centre half all night.

Ince’s smash and grab has QPR and Derby heading opposite ways – Report
at 22:51:51

A very decent team effort but I thought we could have played all night and not scored. Earlier this season there was a lot of talk about how we only ever scored from dead balls - if only! 10 corners wasted - how difficult is it to get one in the spot? And Ollie needs some of Neil's eye for available - not always world beating - forwards available on loan. Our forward line needs reinforcements in January, or else.
Question: do they count all season tickets towards attendance, because its a sale? Must have been at least 20 paid-for seats empty around me.

Perch, Smithies and a return of the square pegs – Knee Jerks
at 19:07:26

Think you're being very harsh. Very disappointing result, but I saw a team putting in a fight and trying to play some football. The whole match hinged on a (so called) experienced player having a brain f**t (which he seems to manage in every game, mostly getting away with it) and the rest of the team having to dig in and try to make up for it.

The return – Preview

Well done, Clive, do keep calling out those whose idea of a telling point is to ask who should get a bullet (they don't pay much attention to daily news obviously) (or maybe they do, sigh). The quick answer to why this stuff goes "unchallenged" is probably that normal and decent members of the human race have decided to leave the anti-social media to the morons. Sad but there it is.

Perfect storm - Knee Jerks
at 17:37:47

I can't blame the players too much, there was no shortage of effort, but an absolute gulf in class and ability - sadly about a two divisions gulf. Not sure if JFH has ever had to put out a side against a Prem team (which in truth they were) before. A steep learning curve all round, and maybe a list for reinforcements needed in January?

Preston profit from lacklustre QPR – Report
at 11:58:53

Not sure why, if fatigue is an issue, two young keen wingers sat on the bench throughout, especially as absolutely nothing was coming from out wide all afternoon. What happened to managing your squad through the glut of early season matches? (So important to make space for that vital international break. Not.)

Barnsley burst QPR bubble - Report

Many thanks for the report, Lee, always appreciate a bit of honesty. It can be too easy to wrap up in the comfort blanket - the one labelled "we wuz robbed" - so I hope JFH isn't going to do that too often.

Hall off the mark, but QPR held by Reading – Report
at 18:11:57

The voice of reason again, do keep on saying it, most people agree. What annoys me is other websites lifting a few quotes off the anti-social media and headlining it as "what QPR fans think about ....... " (fill in name of player or management). We have shipped out a whole team (not all useless but wildly overpaid for a club like ours) and shipped in virtually a whole new team, ending in mid table. I think we would have settled for that. Some great goals from new signings Chery, Nasser and Polts, top class new centre half and two ace new keepers (that we may struggle to keep if they carry on like this). Centre mid needs reinforcing, but by comparison with this time last year, I feel quite positive about next season. Onwards and upwards!

Wegerle goal crowns wonderful comeback - History
at 18:28:09

Good stuff as ever. Some great battles with Leeds down the years. I remember the visit of the Revie team - our record attendance - sadly a defeat but those present will remember being beaten by a great passing side - and then returning the favour with interest in the last game of 75/76. But this is a shadow of their former selves. Leeds results for a couple of months suggest they're there for the taking. (I know, I know. I'm off to stick my head in a bucket for even mentioning it.)

QPR shake London derby monkey in fine style – report
at 18:38:08

So glad I'm not alone in my Polterlove. This young man came from German lower leagues, got dog's abuse from some of our fans, and has come on in leaps and bounds this season. As for Hoilet and Philips - a pair of light bulbs. "The lights are on. The lights are off. The lights are on. The lights are off." (Check the "installation" at Tate Modern a few years ago - possibly another first for LFW?!) We can't afford any more light bulb players. They could leave and be replaced tomorrow by Nasser and Washington, and you know what? We'd be alright.

I know Junior and Chery provided the bells and whistles, but let's give credit to the young man doing the heavy lifting. For me, Seb Polter MOTM by a mile.
